No one is getting married?
I started building my own town this playthrough and have played for over 30 ingame years, but no one, including my heir, is getting married....
All heirs from affluent families are still single in their fourties, which is pretty strange.
I sold a few houses that got bought by said families and rented out, so living space is still tight. My unmarried heir has his own house, has work and is still going to hit thirty in a short while.
Can I do something to increase the chances? Or is it simply bugged?

It’s a hard one to know for sure without looking at the save.

But often it’s purely down to time. Basically before they get married they need to form a relationship. The more they like someone the more they talk to them. This builds a relationship that usually results in marriage. But if everyone is always working with hardly any time to chat this can get a bit complicated. Stars have to kind of align.

I’ll note it down to think about. Hopefully I can think of a natural way to increase the chances of relationships developing to that stage.

Alright, thank you :) I'll try to ensure that he's unemployed for a while and see what happens.
Maybe working together could give a relationship boost?
I tried to have him work together with several singles at my alehouse to increase the chances and realized pretty fast that nothing changed :(

Oh, working together does indeed increase relationships. But only to a point.

Okay, I reloaded an older savefile, played for a few more years and he was unemployed most of the time.
He was rarely talking to anyone... the rest of the time was either spent at his house, foraging places or my alehouse.
Everyone else I fired is still single as well, though several married couples moved in.
It would make things so much easier if I could introduce him to a few people, arrange blind dates so to speak. :`)

Edit: I sent my savefile, just in case.

Uhmm... My character retired and I took over my heir... for some reason he's in love with his mother? I'm surprised that such a thing can happen and have no clue WHEN the required flirting happened, this explains some things...
I gifted his sister a hut and she's suddenly regarded as his lover (90 relationship points) as well, there was no flirting involved.

If you open the family tree, are they actually all on there?

Yes, although I can't scroll sideways when I open it from his profile.

I’ll check this out in the save you sent.

Very odd. I cannot reproduce this incest. Are you able to send me a more recent save?

I have sent it

I recently noticed that in my game too. Anyone of the opposite sex gets classified as a "lover" if the player gets enough points with him or her, even a parent's child. I just assumed it was "lover" in the literal sense, one who loves.

Oooh I misread it. I thought you said you could make love with your mother. So here I was, trying to take your mother to bed.

I understand now. Fixed.

I’ve made some great relationship changes to the test branch, if you wanna give that a bash.

Oh god.... :`) I will!
