Hey Atorcoppe, I am currently in a "criminal" playthrough like you suggested and faced this issue myself.
I thought that I could work around it by moving to another town - one where my character has no criminal record - to become a watchman there. It could and should have made sense since each town is treated as a separate entity, with different elders and positions of powers and possible aeldormen in the future.
But I couldn't do that. This means right now the criminal record is a map-wide thing. Any chance of you changing it to be on per town basis?
The towns are not really individual entities in a lot of regards. And if there is an aeldorman they will be map wide.
Oh wait... that's like real life too...
LOL ....Dev I still find your game interesting...its a call for chaos in a virtual world
There was a game back in the early 90s call UO or ultima online (Before EA games messed things up) that had an in game law enforced system that made criminal live on the outskirts of towns and cities that was enforced by players and npc guards...
You really can code a simple system like that here... Like the player above said has a "cool down system" unless the fines are paid...
The lawless where pursued by random bounty hunters....haha....
well this game has really sparked my interest of late,..
see where you take it
By the way, it is actually still running even today. Owned by some Chinese company now though I think. I haven't played it since 2002 though... can't believe that is 20 years ago.
back in the day it was one of the first MMOs we played together.
Cheers
