Thieves den
Hi,

I read other topics speaking about it, but I still cannot figure out something.

1. I never see my employee doing anything. Even if the pickpocket area is set, they do not do anything.
Should I see some animation?

2. What is the difference between layway and pickpocket? I am not native english but google translate is not helpful in this way, because it translates layway into some sort of "aggression/kill".

3. How can I do an action more specific to someone/something?

Thanks!

1. when your thief is standing in a spot and when someone walks past your worker than the person will get pickpocket.. it doesn't happen all the time.
2. layway is when you rob a cart or wagon.
3.like what?

All their actions are area based and will only happen if there are targets in their area. So a cart needs to drive by or a person needs to walk by before they can waylay or pickpocket.

thank everyone, I was probably doing something wrong. Now it's happening.

Is it possible to add a feature for my thieves employee to waylay only if there are no guards? Using the automatic action is great for pickpocketing, but I cannot see how I should waylay, since there are a lot of guards and cannot check manually my guys.

Do you think it could be useful, or you prefer to stay like it is?

There isn't so many guards out on the road in the forest...

I agree, but it makes no sense that a thief would attack a cart near a guard. They are workers, they should know how to do it a little bit, no?

for me.. i see it as how good of a thief is? if you pick a young thief as a kid he may not know how to... so at times i try to pick the oldest thief thiere is and let them do it.. i could be wrong and it may not even matter.. not untill the skills come into play

I'd never assume that thieves are intelligent...

"On November 29, 1978, David Goodhall and two female accomplices entered a home supplies shop in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, intending to engage in a bit of shoplifting. After stuffing a pair of curtains into a plastic carrier bag, the threesome attempted to leave by separate exits. However, they were apprehended immediately by several store detectives. Goodhall and his cohorts had failed to notice that the shop, at that very moment, was hosting a convention of store detectives."

Yeah, I chose to keep a bit of stupidity in the thieves so you have to be more careful about placement.
