Tips and Suggestions
Love the game so far. Gotta start with the good. I spend so many hours every day playing to try out new things and get better at making money. So far the best investment for profits seems to be: Start with 10000 gold. I usually pick Norbury. Buy the alehouse, either one, since there are 2. Buy the farm. Upgrade the horse and cart to level 3 so you have a horse at the farm or the alehouse. You don't need to do both as you can use the horse to ferry things from both locations to where you need them. Grow your own oats and mass produce porridge in the beginning. You start with 3 farmers, so 2 on oats is more than enough to supply the alehouse and even have extra left over to sell. I've watched a few let's plays and my advice to anyone is always have your main guy playing his lute-boxy guitar thing in the market, watch and see where the most foot traffic is through there and stand there and play. You are shorting yourself a few hundred gold daily if you aren't doing this, believe me. It's also good to chat up the ladies that travel through the area to find a spouse! You can actually fire a farmer and only use 2 at the start to save money if you desire. Or have the third producing something like wool or pigs for hides and carcasses for extra profits. The thing I love about the alehouse is I never have to send good to the market, My porridge or ale or mead always seems to sell out during the night, even when my alehouse is closed. Eventually you will make enough money to upgrade the alehouse to have the brewery. Then use the farm to grow barley, fruit and oats, so you always have supplies to make ale, and porridge without having to pay for anything, other than your farmer's wages of course. Basically, you're only using the farm to fuel the alehouse, which is where most of your profits will come from. Playing your instrument for tips also helps a lot, since you don't technically have to sleep or eat.

You should write a guide for the Alehouse and put it under the guides tab. :)

Buggy things I've noticed so far. My wife has been pregnant 3 times now so the game said. I upgraded my house to accomodate for room for the kid(s) There has never been one. The game announced the birth of 2 sons and a daughter and I even named them, but they never appeared in the game. Hopefully in the future, this will be addressed. I'd like to see the possibility of when I grow old and pass from the world, one of my kids would inherit my businesses and wealth and take over from there. I assume this is probably what Star has in mind for the future. Sometimes in TAB view, things don't seem clickable and other times they do? I've asked before about thieves getting some love, but I'll ask again hehe. Just needs to be fleshed out more so being a thief is actually possible profitable etc, but not without risks, of course. It RAINS way too damn much. I"m sorry, but it's annoying and loud. I'm glad there's weather, including rain and snow. It's just over done a bit, with the noises and how everyone runs around liek a chicken with their heads cut off, is amusing. It does also make dishonest deeds easier, like breaking into a place since the guards run around too. There is so much potential and the game is already loads of fun, I hope Star continues to work on this and add to it even more in the future.

I believe I just did lol

:P I mean, there is an actual tab for it at the top there.

So it rains mostly in spring - in summer it should hardly ever rain, and in autumn it should only rain sometimes.

Your children are born as babies and will sit in their crib in your house until they are six and then they become children, who will then walk around. When you die you can pass all your stuff onto your children, yes.

I will flesh out thieves much more, yes, but I need to focus on other stuff at the moment.

Aha! That explains it then. I usually set my options to at least 8 days per season, I once tried 30. The children are usually going to be born in the fall. Maybe I missed seeing them as I didn't know to look for a crib, lol. I restart quite often to try out new ideas and things as well, so I probably did miss that. Thank you for responding so quickly. Is there a way I can move all that I posted to the guide section? Sorry, not too familiar with how such things work. I am happy to help out with things like this when I can. I will probably be trying multiple busness ventures to see if I can make them work.

No worries. Don't know about moving anything. But you could create a Alehouse guide if you wanted just by starting a new guide.

Is there a guides section?

thanks
I was wondering if in the future you will be able to set routes for your carts? It would be nice if I could set a route from the ale house to my farm to pick up supplies, or send out a couple carts to take things to the trade post. Maybe make it only avaible after you upgrade a cart to max level so it would force you to upgrade multiple carts if you wanted to use it. This way it is requiring you to give more thought if you want to use it. It could even be a level 6 cart upgrade and maybe also have a upgrade in each building you want it to be ran between, have the ones in the buildings be a cheaper upgrade like 500 each but both building would have to of been upgraded for it to work. Also have it to where you set it to go and get more supplies if you run below a set amount.

Pretty sure you can do these things now if you upgrade to level 3 horse and cart, select travel to option and you can make cart go to whatever market and offload goods or buy things from market and have it go home, which offloads the goods for you.

I read that all wrong - I thought you said 'see the routes'.

But yeah, travel to does that.

So I made the guide, it's pretty short and to the point. I hit publish, but I'm not seeing it. Maybe it takes a while to publish?
ok I have always used the move to command. would I be able to send a cart from my ale house to my farm to pick up oats and go back on it's own or will I need to load them manully?
