Game fails to launch

Click steam play button - Sudden Strike II bat failed to launch, windows cant find cant find directory, you may not have additional permission. Did re install. Same. Could be that windows has suddenly made entire game directory read only and I cant seem to turn it off.

Could be you lack admin rights. Cam you check the FAQ?

Adding admin rights and XP Service pack 3 compatiblity does not help. Still same error about unable to find directory. Plus I cant run from game_exe.exe as its says there is issue with sudetest.ini. Tried to fiddle with ownership and user permissions - nothing.

The fact that I can run original Russian version CD is a shame to this steam version. I so wanted the English version, but there is no fix. Sad.

This was fixed using Bat to exe conversion program. Apperently my system has some odd problem with bat files.

My bat issue was solved after Windows update. But, if that is bat issue for you, there is bat to exe program that you can use to make exe out of bat file to launch game. It worked for me. It will not show overlay and count game hours as only backdrop.
