Sudden Strike 2 Audio Fix

I found the solution for sudden strike 2 audio problems the fix also works with sudden strike 2 resource war.

Go to where the game is installed then go into the code folder then release select all copy then go back to main intall folder and paste all items there then run exe manually the game sound issues are gone dont use the ingame steam link otherwise it runs the exe from the old location

If the sound is still having issues even after fix I made a dsound fix that may work some it must be pasted into you sudden strike 2 gold folder https://ufile.io/8hmuj

Hi,

Can you specify what audio problem it is?

There is one issue in Windows 7 or with some audio drivers/soundcards which causes lags in multiplayer (+ bad scrolling) on big maps, if player turn sounds off it's working. I had these problems sometimes but when i migrate to W10 it was ok.

Found a work around for my Sudden Strike 2 Audio not working problems so posted how i got it working incase it helps with others. aka I no longer have audio problems in win7 or win10

I found a fix for No sounds Sudden Strike 1 gold and Sudden Strike 2 gold.


For Sudden Strike 1 gold, Go to 'Steam\steamapps\common\Sudden Strike Gold', The rename (GAME.EXE) to (game.exe).


For Sudden Strike 2 gold. Go to 'Steam\steamapps\common\Sudden Strike 2 Gold', Open folder 'code', Then open folder 'Release'. Rename (game.exe) to (GAME.EXE) Still can use steam lancher

If you start a mission and then press "esc">"sound" and turn up the music volume you will hear all the battle sounds and voices.

You will not have sound in the menus, but at least the battle has sounds.

Thank you, this fixed my sound problem, it also worked in ressource war.

Okay guys there is a really really dumb thing about this game. When u actually buy it on steam its already on version 2.2 so forget about all fixes you can download. When you got the problem that with first start you got sound, second and all other starts no sound try following: Tie up the sound controls in game: Normally you have effects and voices to max but you hear nothing. Music is on zero. Turn up music to max et voila, you hear voices and effects. LOL

Renaming both "game_exe.exe" files to "game.exe" work but for SS2 you need to modify the "Sudden Strike II.bat" in the main folder also. Strangely enough, Resource War doesn't have this sound issue for me.

Also dgvoodoo2 works well enough for these games from what I played. It might fix mouse and performance issues for some.
