How to get both floppy disks

I want to get the true ending and i know i have to get the CTRL disk from barry or cody. But how, i talked to them on day 3. Do i need to get it a different day or am i just screwing up

If you beat the game once then you can warn Cody or Barry to stay back before you visit the Sidereal office. So you can then save the one that comes with you, get the first disc, then later bring the other one up and get the second.

I keep trying to talk to barry or cody before going in a i cant get them to stay put. The closest i get is cody saying "Do we have to go in there" but theres no way i can tell him no or stay here. Is it because im loading a save, or im doing it wrong

After you beat normal mode you have to start a new game. The new game option should read flicker between that and "The Awakening". Play that and get back up to Day 3, you'll notice some slight differences in interactions. The Day 3 dream will tell you what to do if you go up the stairs. And you won't be doing the same things over again because every day is random between a few options.

In "The Awakening" (which I think you unlock by using one disk, finishing the game and then starting a new one), a set of stairs will appear in the dream sequence at the end of the second night. It might depend on how well you prepared for the temperature event.

If you go up the stairs in the dream, you can initiate a conversation that will let you warn Barry/Cody the next day. This will prevent that character from dying at the office building. Proceed through the office building as normal until you open the side exit. You can then re-enter the building with all four characters. Climb back up the elevator shaft. If you've done the hidden electricity puzzle (15v to pin A, 40v to pin B), you can get Cody to help you with the vent and Barry to help you with the large pipe. This will allow you to take both disks.
