Connections
So I looked back on previous Deep Sleep and Don't Escape games and found out that the Datapad from Don't Escape 3, a product catalog from Don't Escape 2, and the sewage mechanism from Deepest Sleep are all made by Sidereal Plexus. From that and the multiple documents and notes from this game we know they're all connected.
Before doing into the sleeping pods, Cate mentions that if they can't select a target they could end up as floating bodies in the realm of dreams, Shadow People. This could also happen if you fall into a coma, and to get back into the normal world you have to use another persons body, similar in both series.

At the end of Deeper Sleep, Cody wakes up from a coma to find his tiger plushie. The coma he woke up from could've been our adventures in this game.

Also because there are so many variations of David, and there were two options when going in to the sleeping pods, it's completely possible that David was sent into the realm of dreams and even that he's our character in the Deep Sleep series.

Davis also sees a shadow person in his “vision” to prepare himself. As we know this is a way for his past life to communicate with his current one. Well because there are shadow people in the dreams which, according to the notes in the locked room, can only be seen by those in the realm of dreams that means at least one past version of David was lost to the realm instead of returning to the wasteland. It would be a never ending cycle if one version of David never found the CTRL and eventually the MEM discs.

Sidereal used the crystals from Don't Escape 3 to mine on the Moon and ultimately cause its split in 1996. We find a note from the on-board doctor of the spaceship.
We also get to see many paintings in this game, including one of the house from Don't Escape 1 and the other reoccurring painting in Deep Sleep, previously only showing up in dreams. This could mean that the game itself is a dream, and that David and Cate's visions are dreams within themselves, but that's unlikely.

On the official Sidereal website there is a version of Earth, SP-82311, that is labelled "worldwide pandemic of unknown rage virus". Obviously hinting towards Don't Escape 2.
On the same website there is another version of Earth, SP-17321, labelled "humanity in a medieval-like era" which could be hinting toward the village attacked by the werewolf in Don't Escape 1.
Also on the website it says the events of the UEFS Horizon (Don't Escape 3) took place in SP-1.
SP-23 and the name of a doctor have both been "REDACTED" from the website also.

From all this, we know all games in both series are all in the same universe (different versions of it) and all have some connection using the glue that is this game. It would be insane if Scriptwelder planned this all out from the start, and even more impressive if he improvise along the way while still making each interesting.
I'm not really trying to prove anything here because most of it is obvious, but it's interesting none the less.

EDIT: Ok so I played through awakening mode again and instead of either the tiger or Maggie being up the stairs both of them appear. This is because in the last play through none of the characters died so they have nothing to warn you about. Instead they told me to focus on remembering my past lives and even told me I knew who the shadow people were because I even remembered the dreams of my past life.

Sorry for writing so much but I think it’s worth the read to sort of wrap up some final thoughts

It be like that sometimes. But seriously there's a comment on the "Lore" discussion that basically has the same info but ties it up nicely

It’s kind of obvious.

Oh hey I really liked a small talk about the back and beyond. Wish we could get a full game about that or something.

What about 400 years then? There is reference (probably) to small talk.

Oh! I forgot one way dungeon! But this is probably just parto of medieval-like world mentioned in SP website

At the end of 400 years you can go to the right side of the volcano and find a grave. On the grave is written: "Here lies a traveler between worlds, whose name is unknown. May his curious soul find a way home, like you have found his resting place". Now its pretty obvious that this "traveler between worlds" is connected to Sidereal Plexus.

Pretty obvious is a stretch, but you can make the connection without too much trouble.
