Edit: tried with Cody alive instead of Barry, did not have enough time to tape the tarp on the helicopter hole, so definitely not possible if both of them are dead.
If you get heatwave for day 2, it might be better to try and survive inside the house instead of going to the cave to minimize the walk distance to Sidereal Plexus. It's still possible to do it perfectly even there.
You only need to do the following things for perfect storm scenario:
The most time consuming task is obviously setting up the 3 storm catchers. I recommend going to the hunter lodge right after you leave Sidereal Plexus to get the necessary items for negotiating with Sarge. Then setup the storm catchers at restaurant, crane (fill the fuel can before going here and don't forget to get the tarp while you're at it), then hunter lodge in that order.
Preparing the house should be straightforward by now.
Some time savers:
I may record a video walkthrough of this should I have the time for it.
Please do that, because I can't properly remember all that text.

Things that happened on Day 1 & 2 that's relevant:
Thanks
Hey, I know this is an old post, but I just completed day 3 only walking, with the exact same order as you, spiders, blizzard, acidic thunderstorm and air, and without losing Barry and Cody, I finished the day with perfect score leaving exactly 1 hour spare. Which I believe means that I could have also gotten perfect with one of them absent. Let me know if you want to know how.
Okay, never mind. I didn't realise that there were replies this far back in the discussion that answered it for you. I essentially did the same thing as the person who made the video. Except that I left the window covers up, and had the fuel tank full from the previous day.
The covers do accomplish nothing for the rain if you have secured the roof well enough.
Use glove on rusty scafolding and the use the grapling hook on the buckle, get the welding kit.
At the spaceship use the srewdriver on the satalite and take the metal plate.
Plug the welding kit in first and then use the metal plate on the crack.
Or you can use the glue gun on the window at the bus crash site.
Use the wrench on the RV for the hook.
It is one of those red herring items if I am not mistaken.
