How do I beat Day 3 (thunderstorm) without the car?
So I'm trying to get the "Mostly Walking" achievment, but I can't beat Day 3 without the car.

Can someone give me a guide how to survive Day 3 without the car?

That'll work, I guess?

That advice doesn't help at all. I've done it perfectly with a car, but when I tried without I ran out of time when placing the 3 storm catchers. Does anyone have a concise, step by step guide for doing this in the least amount of time possible?

Are you sure you need to connect the storm catchers in order to survive the night?

it almost as if you're implying they should just be on low ground or, I dunno, a deep cave or something?

I think it depends on whether or not you aim for perfection and want to spend time getting the floppy disks.

Travel time, it also depends on whether you start from the house or RV (the latter because it's the best, but not only way, to get perfect heat). You have to walk to the office, then the lodge to get the bargaining tools for Sarge, then go to the restaurant, then the construction site, back to the lodge, and back to the house.

To get perfect, All three storm catchers must work, ditches must be dug, a tarp taped over the helicopter, the lightning rod in place, and the roof must be closed. I don't think you need to spend time placing the wooden boards.

One thing is that you should do it during The Awakening so you have all four characters to reduce the time you have to spend on work (like digging the ditches or cleaning off the roof). Also, you don't need to use the Silencer on the rifle. You also technically don't need to cover the windows (though I tend to).

My guide would be:

Make sure you've already built one part of the Bridge to get over the ravine without spending time. Also, make sure you put up the blankets or plastic sheet over the windows for the previous day

Go to the Office making sure you're carrying a full Can of gas, the Extension Cord and the Bandage.

After that, go to the cabin and get the Whiskey, Revolver and Revolver Ammo. While you're there, clean off the roof.

Go to the Restaurant, meet Sarge, give the Bandage and Whiskey to the wounded guy, get the Storm-catchers and learn how they're used, then give the Revolver and Revolver Ammo and a Storm-catcher to Sarge so he'll install it in the big burger.

Go to the Construction Site, install the Storm-catcher in the crane, then fuel the generator and go back up the crane to use it to lift the pile of stuff so you can get the wire. Get the big tarp too.

Then go back to the cabin and install the third Storm-catcher before returning to the House.

Install the wire on the chimney for the lightning rod, use the tarp on the helicopter with duct tape and don't forget to close the attic door to the roof. Also go ahead and dig the ditches if you have time, which you should. If you somehow don't the sheeting/blankets in the windows should still make the rain survivable.
