As for "all varieties," can you explain a little more all of what you want to see? If you can handle it, there's a some interesting lore-related stuff that you can see and possibly learn about the story/characters if you let each of the friend characters die once (For Barry and Cody it has to be in that specific moment on Day 3 and you get the related dream sequence for each of them on your next playthrough. For Cate it's Day 4 where you just have to miss exactly ONE requirement for a totally safe landingand there's just some interesting detail you get after entering the building on the moon).
Also, in case you didn't get all the achievements yet it's obviously easier to do the no car one if you have more people to help so it's worth doing those in different runs.
Doesn't matter. Do whichever scenarios interest you. The thing I didn't know about Day 3 Bandits at first is that they can't climb the walls so you only need to have metal bars on the bottom window for a perfect day.
Lone survivor is sad, but interesting to get. I think I was doing that one when I saw the bit I mentioned above about Cate.
I wonder, since I notice a lot of people seem to want to do everything on their first playthrough even when it isn't really possible, is it not a downer to get the bad endings after? Just curious because I've seen people doing bad endings last and I never understand it. I hate finishing a game off on a bad ending. I know I'm always going to get them all if I can, so it feels better to me to finish off with a good ending. (I even purposely make choices I think will lead to a bad ending on my first playthrough just to avoid that happening.)
Anyway I have already started third run and decided for combo day 1 - spiders, day 2 heat but staying in house instead of cave, day 3 raiders - because same required tools of defence, that should make it little bit different. I guess, I won't weaken them this time and let Razor's gang of 15 men assault my house. And day 4 - air, well I'll try, what you suggested
Well yeah, I have to stop my urge of trying best ending at the first run next time.
No worries, I wasn't just talking about you or this game in particular, but just how many people in general I've seen try to do it all in a first playthrough in a lot of different games where multiple endings are possible. What matters is not what I think but if you're able to enjoy the game-- I was just wondering if most people enjoy games as much as they could have, even when the best parts are over before the rest of the game is done.
