I am not aware of wich other options in that case exist, but I am sure (actually I used old Vive wands (converted to trackers) at my feet, to simulate trackers in 2020, while my hands used Index Controllers with a third party tool named "Natural Locomotion"
Natural Locomotion is not free though and normal usage of it is: wave your arms = move forward. But it had a Beta function in 2020 (so its most likely ready now) to use trackers at your feet to walk in place.
That should at least point you into the right direction to research that yourself.
