What mods should I install to make the game better?
I have this on the psvr and I want to buy it on pc because you can mod it. I am a total novice when it comes to moding and installing mods. What mods should I install from nexus and Bethesda, and how can I install them properly? Thank you.

A warning about wabbajack if you don't subscribe to nexus you'll have to download the mods manually one at a time while with the membership everything will be downloaded automatically.

I'm a relatively new dude when it comes to modding SkyrimVR as well, and having just picked up this game on sale for $15 (what a scam even at that price, really, for how broken it is by default, but certainly far better than $60).

It's been a hell of a rabbit hole and back-and-forth with trying to get things working; and for context I am utilizing the Oculus/Meta Quest 2.

Assuming you don't go with Wabbajack, which I don't/haven't yet (I'm using the Vortex Mod Manager from NexusMods), here's what I have so far that, even though it's "minimal", still uplifts the experience tremendously:

THE FUNDAMENTALS
---------------------------------------------------
- SKSEVR 2.0.12 ( https://skse.silverlock.org/ )

- USSEP (Unofficial Skyrim Patch) 4.2.8 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/266?tab=files )

- Skyrim VR USSEP 4.2.2 and SSE 1.5.97 Compatibility Patch ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/31673?tab=files ) THIS MOD MUST BE INSTALLED MANUALLY; read the Readme file included and/or the mod page's description area.

- SKSEVR Perk Extender 2.0 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16330?tab=files )

- VR Address Library for SKSEVR ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/58101?tab=files )

- UIExtensions 1.2.0 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17561?tab=files )

- Skyrim VRTools 2.3 BETA ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27782?tab=files )

- SkyUI VR 1.2.2 ( https://github.com/Odie/skyui-vr/releases )

THE FUN STUFF
----------------------------------------------------
Onyx VR Weathers 0.7.1 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/36227?tab=files )

- NPCs Walk/Run at Your Pace 1.0 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2482?tab=files )

- Difficult Archery SSE Port ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/52030?tab=files ) , I'm using the 30% adjustment one. This adjusts enemy hit chance, not yours. The title of the mod is a little misleading.

- Ordinator 9.31.0 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1137?tab=files )

- Ordinator VR Compatibility Patch ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19052?tab=files )

- Summermyst Enchantments 3.07 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6285?tab=files )

- HIGGS 1.6.1 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/43930?tab=files )

- PLANCK 0.5.1 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/66025?tab=files ) ; This works in tandem with HIGGS to provide "ultimate" VR Interactions.

- MoreHUD 1.1.0 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/33215?tab=files )

- Centered Messages Box VR 0.5 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17687?tab=files )

- Celtic Music in Skyrim 2.1 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2980?tab=files )

- Craftable Bandoliers and Pouches 1.2.1 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2417?tab=files )

- Blocking Sparks and Impact VR 1.0.1 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/74463?tab=files )

- Weapon Throw VR 1.3.10 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/31374?tab=files )

- No Stagger Blindness 1.0.0 ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16429?tab=files )

- No Player Fall Damage ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5210?tab=files )

For pretty much every single mod listed, aside from the USSEP Compatibility Patch, simply download the respective ZIP/RAR file and drag-and-drop them all into your mod manager (in my case, again, I'm just being simple and using Vortex Mod Manager).

Unfortunately, as it stands, I can not for the life of me get any kind of lighting/graphics/textures mods to work, nor anything revolving around "Dynamic Animation Replacer" , "RaceMenu", "FNIS", or anything else. Mainly just QoL stuff. The closest I can get to modifying the look is with the Settings via Onyx VR Weathers, where you can set the filter to be anything from Moody to Vibrant. As mentioned above, I'm no professional modder either, and it's just as possible Wabbajack may make life easier, so take my list/recommendations thus far in trial-and-error with as big a grain of salt as you see fit, as there may very well be better avenues and people regarding this. I am just a semi-novice dude, much like you.

It is also worth noting, where VMM is concerned at least, you will likely very regularly get "errors" that, to my understanding and experience, can be ignored:
- Plugin Dependencies Unfulfilled: "Some of the enabled plugins have dependencies or incompatibilities that are not obeyed in your current setup:
skyui_se.esp -- requires -- Skyrim Script Extender "

- Missing Masters: "Some of the enabled plugins depend on others that are not enabled:
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp -- depends on ( ccBGSSSE001-Fish.esm , ccBGSSSE025-AdvDSGS.esm , ccBGSSE037-Curios.esl , and ccQDRSSE001-SurvivalMode.esl )"

Confirmed - I just ignore this. It's a bug in Vortex.

Also one of my go to mods is better smelting. it helps you get ingots from a wider range of logical sources.

and I would also like to point out that in my experience vortex does not always enable mods it says it has. I needed to enable a few for both skyrim and fallout 4 vr manually in plugins.txt
