Reviews say mods make this work well. What mods are a must for VR?
Many of the reviews for this say that mods fix this and get it working well. Can anyone please tell me what mods are best for VR?
I'm not really after anything that changes the core game, just mods that fix what Steam reviews say are broken.

The big standout VR specific mods that easily take this from a 7 to a 10 are VRIK, HIGGS and PLANCK

VRIK's main feature is actually giving you a body. With this body you can not only see yourself, but you can holster equipment to various spots on your body without having to open up a menu to swap mid fight. It's practically essential and feels entirely natural unlike other games that give you physical bodies.

HIGGS works in conjunction with VRIK and lets you pick up objects in the world and interact with them with your fingers realstically grabbing them. You also have the option of using a Half-Life: Alyx styled telekinesis ability to pull objects towards you instead of having to physically walk over and pick it up. You can then sling it over your shoulder and it'll go into your inventory. It makes looting a lot more fun than just pressing a button while hovering your hand over some gold. It also lets you two-hand weapons!

PLANCK is a smaller mod that works alongside HIGGS that makes NPCs physically react to you. For instance if you bash someone on this side of the head with your hammer, their body will react accordingly. The mod's description explains it better than I'm currently doing.

There are also a good handful of other VR specific mods that enhance the overall experience and bring some different levels of interaction like SpellSiphon, Spell Wheel VR, Weapon Throw VR and MAGE VR. However, they stray a bit too far from the classic vanilla experience so I don't have them installed and I wouldn't recommend them for a first time VR player.

The SkyrimVR subreddit has some EXCELLENT resources available for people getting started with modding and the community is quite helpful. Most special edition mods will work right out of the gate but there are VR specific versions of old favorites like SkyUI.

If you want to use Wabbajack, an automated mod installer, FUS and/or UVRE are both modlists worth looking into.

Hope this helps!

Mods are like coffee: Some like it black, some with cream, some mostly milk, some as an espresso etc etc.

If you're not fussed just look online for any old mod list. If you are fussed then build up a mod list of your own for your own game to your own taste.

Asking here what mods are best is a waste of time cus you'll end up with someone elses taste of two sugars, foam, double shot etc.

Sounds like you're not fussed so look online for whatever looks good and use Wabbajack.

Also, dont't forget about Spellwheel VR. It allows you to browse your stuff like spells, weapons, potions without going into the menus, the immersive VR way.

I did mention Spell Wheel VR but as I said, it kinda strays a bit from Vanilla in my eyes and I wouldn't suggest it right off the bat for someone new to modding Skyrim VR. There's also something special about being able to pause combat and stuff wheels of cheese down your gullet.

i went with the wabbajack mod FUS, there is a discussion post here that links reddit, and on the reddit page it has a detailed guide, its all automated except thre prep work, and you need to download the mods from nexus which requires clicking if you dont have a premium account. bigger files are downloaded later so its busy work at first.
from there though im going through some of the options with the mod manager, it seems like a good bundle but requires some playtesting with the optional mods included.
you see the names of mods in this thread that are included in the package. double check for sure, but it seems like its got the essential good ones people recommend
