it has the issues the original had but mods really improve things.
haters gonna hate
I use a quest 2 with like, 15 heavy duty mods. I can stream this game at a very high/smooth frame rate. What ever do you mean? Also, it's more so based on your computer gfx card etc vs the actual headset. Quest 2 runs every VR game flawlessly for me using a 3060 ti computer build. Some jank when streaming certain games, but that is due to my slightly older cpu.
Short list of bare bones core mods + Whatever their dependencies are.

Where you go from there is up to you but I would not even touch this game without those.
The horse carriage intro will be (hilariously) buggy AF and make you think you did something wrong.
Pressing Continue instead of "Load Game", causes all my controller buttons to unbind. Needs a restart to fix.
The default controller binds objectively suck to begin with.
Every other restart of the game doesn't actually launch the game, only fix is to reboot the friggin' PC.
It really is a chore to play all around. I only recommend it if you have the time and passion to do so.
Its been so long since I played the standard intro that I totally forgot,

Realms of Lorkhan is also IMO a sanity saving mod along with the related "Unbound" quest fix. Not sure if there are other alternate start mods that work with VR but it was the first I came across that specifically stated that it did and it does.
The standard intro to the game is just so jaink (even without mods) and particularly maddening when you're first trying to get mods to play nice and end up playing it potentially dozens+ of times.
Very true, I wish I could disagree but initially getting this game modded and stable can be a srs pain. But if you can manage it, it really has the "wow this is what I wanted VR to be" dungeon crawling awesomeness. That even newer games that are specifically crafted for VR just aren't hitting yet.
Feel free to recommend more alternative stuff like this. (other than ofc Blade & Sorcery)
Best experience ever as modded.
Will it drain your sanity and soul trying to make it work with mods and fiddle with the performance settings at the ini files? Probably yes.
Is it worth it? If you're looking for a game that has so many different mods, so you can tailor it to your tastes? Heck yes.
With mods on board, there is not a single game that is 1 step closer to what Skyrim VR can be.
It solds me just being able to be that "looting cleptomaniac", and being able to create my own collections of hq texture/pretty shader stuff. But then, you can actually use that money to buy houses, hire people, buy stuff and improve yourself.. basically, it is a game forged in dreams.. until you get a CTD and now you honestly hate it.
So, getting back to the question about "top 10 vr games" - I'd say Skyrim VR is top 1 in the type of games it represents. Only given you're willing to spend some time getting a hand in modding, through. You'll need mods if you want the best performance and lack of bugs, anyway, sooo...
