Let's wait for another SteamVR update, maybe our savegames will work again one day...
I also opened the windows(10) task manager to try to see if anything suspicious happens there while Skyrim freezes. The only thing that happens in the Performance tab is the GPU going into idle mode AND SteamVR doesn't respond as if there was no HMD and Controller attached.
@Ab$olut I realized that the freezes last for about 20 - 30 seconds and then the game proceeds until the next freeze. Is this also the case for you?
1. Delete Acquisitive Soul Gems Mod ( Might not be this one but I did anyway)
2. Delete Diverse Dragons Mod.
3. Use Fallrim's Tool to clean ALL mentions of above mods (use search before purging)
4. Rejoice at the freezing being fixed!
I was 80 hours into my game when this started behaving badly and freezing up for 45-60 seconds.
Diverse Dragons was installed way back at the start of my game and didn't cause any issues until the 80-hour mark...
This 100% fixed all the freezing up.
Report back on your success? Good luck.
2. Open save in Fallrim's Re-saver tool.
3. Remove unattached instances.
4. Remove unidentified elements.
5. Search for "diverse" in the Re-saver search bar
6. Plugins>delete changeforms>delete script instances
7. Global Variables> Highlight all by shift-clicking>CleanTab>KillListed
8.ChangeForms> Repeat stage 7 steps.
9. Save to a new name and try loading it up in Skyrim.
Best of luck. I was losing my mind trying to figure this out.
On the first day I thought it was just a straight-up CTD but after the 30th time I just sat staring into the HMD in disbelief that my 80 hours were up the spout... Then after it sprung back into life, I realised that it was "only" a freeze-up problem and was probably save/script related.
Hope this helps.
