yes it plays fine seated

there's a few tweaks to get your height in game up to a standing height as well.

check the skyrimvr reddit page for all the info you need.

I'm about 50 hrs in all seated.

Skyrimprefs.ini at C:\Users\YOU\Documents\My Games\Skyrim VR

[VR]
fCharacterHeightOffset=10.0000 <---change to 50.000

I am bout an inch taller than everyone else in game.
a swivel chair (can rotate) is a must have though.

Alternatively, you can download OpenVR overlay as it has a height setting that stacks with in game. I play Skyrim on a swivel chair and Fallout room scale as those sessions are generally shorter.

Play as a hobbit .

Or you just dont buy Skyrim VR but get VorpX for some dollars. And play it with your vive and Skyrim extended edition.

If you want the sofa experience, Bethesdas implementation sucks.

I see you already made a post about VorpX...are you now going to spam every thread with the "Skyrim Vr is crap" rubbish...sounds like you never played this version in VR on Rift or Vive with motion controlls/wands etc.....its freaking great

VorpX is nothing to how its implemented for Vive/Rift

To be ON TOPIC.....OP yes you can play seated just fine, I play mostly seated on my VIVE..but sometimes I play standing.....im an old guy like you...you would love it :)

I want Bethesda to implement proper controls. And not the clunk-o-rama they built into Fallout VR and Doom VR... and obviously also Skyrim VR.

I have the oculus. I played this game with the oculus controls standing but its a bit clunky imo for an oculus touch game.

So now my last 15 hours in the game have been seated with an xbox one controller. I love it seated. I have a swivel chair that turns to its side a bit. It works well. Playing this game relaxed seated is still fun as hell imo. You aim with the eyes pretty much its fun!

why is it clunk-o-rama?

why is it clunk-o-rama?

Fallout 4 VR: Limited to the VR headset controlers, awkward while playing seated
Doom VR: Room scale ONLY, limited to VR controlers, impossible to be played seated

Gamepad support is none existing or very limited (in doom vr gamepad rotates in a 45° degree angle.. and you have to.. teleport.. really?)

You can have free movement without teleporting and its a VR game the idea being using the tech that we have bought Rift/vive which come with...you guessed it...motion controllers...which i use...seated just fine
I love pulling the bow back and shooting arrows..its why we have motion controlls cos you know its VR

Yeah, and i dont like the vive controlers. I love to play with my gamepad. WIth smooth movement. And not "teleporting", which destroys immersion completely in a medieval RPG like skyrim..

And even in a game like Fallout 4 or even Doom VR.. while the last is the most horrible implementation of them all.

You dont have to use the teleport...you can have free movement/smooth movement

schmonz obviously has an agenda. His arguments are completely bogus.

Any option to play with mouse & keyboard, for those of us who don't have the space to flail around with controllers?
