there's a few tweaks to get your height in game up to a standing height as well.
check the skyrimvr reddit page for all the info you need.
I'm about 50 hrs in all seated.
[VR]
fCharacterHeightOffset=10.0000 <---change to 50.000
I am bout an inch taller than everyone else in game.
a swivel chair (can rotate) is a must have though.
If you want the sofa experience, Bethesdas implementation sucks.
I see you already made a post about VorpX...are you now going to spam every thread with the "Skyrim Vr is crap" rubbish...sounds like you never played this version in VR on Rift or Vive with motion controlls/wands etc.....its freaking great
VorpX is nothing to how its implemented for Vive/Rift
To be ON TOPIC.....OP yes you can play seated just fine, I play mostly seated on my VIVE..but sometimes I play standing.....im an old guy like you...you would love it :)
So now my last 15 hours in the game have been seated with an xbox one controller. I love it seated. I have a swivel chair that turns to its side a bit. It works well. Playing this game relaxed seated is still fun as hell imo. You aim with the eyes pretty much its fun!
why is it clunk-o-rama?
Fallout 4 VR: Limited to the VR headset controlers, awkward while playing seated
Doom VR: Room scale ONLY, limited to VR controlers, impossible to be played seated
Gamepad support is none existing or very limited (in doom vr gamepad rotates in a 45° degree angle.. and you have to.. teleport.. really?)
You can have free movement without teleporting and its a VR game the idea being using the tech that we have bought Rift/vive which come with...you guessed it...motion controllers...which i use...seated just fine
I love pulling the bow back and shooting arrows..its why we have motion controlls cos you know its VR
And even in a game like Fallout 4 or even Doom VR.. while the last is the most horrible implementation of them all.
You dont have to use the teleport...you can have free movement/smooth movement
