LOD
Ok so I been reading up about LOD... sorry I’m new to Skyrim.

Still a bit confused, you know all the in game settings the sliders etc should I put all those to the left or right in Vr ? I know it affects detail a lot in 2d mode but is it necessary to use them in 3d will help with any of the blur in distances?

At the moment they are all basically all the way to the left apart from trees which is all the way to the right

How do you set yours?

Btw I’m using a Gtx1080ti so gave the power if it helps to have them high..

Thanks for any advice.

Try this for your LODs:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3333

That's what I use with a 1080ti. I cannot find a decent balance with the TXAA on, it is just way too fuzzy for me. I have it off then try not to stop moving around/my head - this pretty much eliminates the jaggies when standing still and looking into the treeline.

NPCs faces from anything other that point-blank are always going to be be horrible looking as there's only a few hundred pixels to make the face out of.

I've just started role playing as if I were inside a living Monet painting:D

Thanks Carl, I found using pixel density of 1.42 which is basically exactly double and using TAA 0.3 changed in Biagos tool the best mix it removes jaggies and is not so blurry this is after hours of trying like super sampling at 2 etc I definitely got a good balance with it also there is a taasharpen setting which setting higher might sharpen things I’m at work can’t give exact details but definitely give TAA 0.3 a go...

I’m role playing an archer who got kicked out of the family of a tribe of archers for being born with one eye...makes up for not seeing to well in the game....now I’m off to prove myself to my family and the world to show them I’m the best archer alive !! Lol one day I’ll grow up but not just yet.

Oh and what do I do with sliders all the way left or right?

Okay, one more deep dive into the TXAA settings we go...

It's Carslaw btw, you ever met a Scottish guy called Carl? :D

Nope lol but I ain’t heard of carlshaw either 🤔 lol.

So which LOD 1k? 2k? 4K?

And sliders left or right?

Hey Carlbtw, I thought those haystacks looked familiar. I’m going to take a screenshot and see if I can fetch $84000000 on eBay :steamhappy:

Wouldn't think you'd see much between the 2k & 4k tbh but you've got 11GB of Vram sitting there so as long as you're not going near that, feel free to try the 4k stuff. I;m a simple guy, I see 4k, I press download:)

Think the slider related to what distance the LOD models change into the close variants. If you're getting a lot of pop-in, try turning them up. If you can still see the LODs when you're getting close, try turning them down.

Marc with a "C" - who'd've thunk it:D

Huh?

In reference to Monet, it sold for $84M, so a screenshot should be worth something

You never heard people in the 1800s moaning about screen door effect:)

Lol, true.
My art knowledge is limited. The only reason I recognized Monet was because those haystacks were in a movie I saw a while back. A movie I don’t remember the name of.

Now you're undoing all that work making us think you were a high-brow art expert:)

that reminds me of the quest in oblivion where you go inside a painting and everything looks like an oil painting.

now that would be awesome in VR.

Can you share a screenshot of your sliders I’m still unsure where to place them 🙄
