Modding requires Skyrim SE?
Hi guys - can you mod Skyrim VR even if you have never purchased the SE version. All the instructions seem to indicate you modify/trick the mod to allow you to install it by using ;-"appdata\local\Skyrim Special Edition" which presumably does not exist if you do not have the SE version? Or am I reading the instuctions wrong?

Did you purchase SkyrimVR here on Steam or are you asking for help with a cracked version?

You do not need it. Nexus Mod Manager creates the SE folder in the "appdata" location, with the "plugins.txt" file you need to copy the info from.

You only need Skyrim VR and Nexus Mod Manager.

Yes, Skyrim VR is the SE version.

If you don't want to go the trick route, use vortex. Ir recognizes Skyrim VR

No guys look at my purchase history from steam i have loads, I never have bought a cracked or pirated game period. I am going to get Skyrim VR on Steam likely tommorow - and was just getting info to save time after buying - its the kind of thing i tend to do, but thanks for the info in some of the posts and I will likely use vortex as suggested by one kind individual.

there are alot of guides on youtube how to fix nmm to work with vr. but i switched to vortex (loaded on nmm).
it´s a mod manager like nmm, works with nexusmods site, and work with skyrim vr

Apologies for the initial palming off with your question. There's a lot of people who come to the forum just to stir up controversy and without the mouse symbol next to your name, it's hard to decide who's actually needing help and who's just here to troll.

Vortex seems to be pretty user friendly and there's not a lot of complaints about problems with it so sounds like you'll be fine.

If you still need any help when you get the game, feel free to ask here as there's tons of really helpful users to talk you through any issues.

Happy modding.
