showracemenu either crashes the game or doesn't load

I've been having this problem for quite a while now and have had no luck fixing, so i've come to the forums.

When I use the showracemenu command, my game either crashes to desktop or it doesn't bring up the character creator at all. Now obviously I am using mods so I expected some problems. The game was crashing but after I disabled the Racemenu mod, instead of crashing with the command, it simply does not load the character creator. I don't know what else to do. I'm running a collection of armor mods + a mix of gameplay enhancers (RIO, Skyrim 2017 textures, etc.) If anyone has any solutions it would be greatly appreciated!
