I must admit that Skyrim is the only game I play in VR that makes me feel like I'm falling when the character walks. Fallout4 and others don't seem to have that effect.
Thank you for the tips I will give them a try :)
Another great mod is Immersive Winds VR. If you have a smart plug and a fan with manual switches, you can set this mod up to synchronise with the weather conditions in the game and turn on and off when the wind picks up -https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18346 it does wonders for immersion and the cool breeze will help with motion sickness.
initially i got the same thing, even in the option when turning on those black shaders to prevent motion sickness didn't work. I turned them back off.
I kinda was sick after 10 minutes. But after doing small session about 30 minutes, i get used to it. I now can do sessions of 3 houres. If i play everyday. If not i might have to build it back up.
Personally i build motion sickness when walking downstairs or jumping off thing.
Things that can help with motion sickness.
- Play frequently
- Make sure you have high FPS as possible(no drops)
- When jumping of a cliff (close your eyes)
- Try to blink often (alot of ppl don't blink when they are in VR)$
- Use a fan and let it blow (it mimics movement)
- Drink alot of water
- Change FOV
I found that i have a more comfortable time when i have some pressure on my head like a pair of over the ear head phones, if your using something like a oculus then i would suggest trying that.
Can confirm ginger ale definitely helped me whether it was placebo or not I dont know, but one thing that helps me is looking at the weapon im carrying when I move around. Horse riding also seems to not cause sickness for me too. Finally can also confirm Fallout 4 caused no issues at all for some reason.
When you move, swing your arms a little or move your legs a little like you`re walking (moon walk). That way you fool the barin into thinking all is well- No motion sickness. Or use Natural Locomotion.
Also going to try walking in place and running a fan but I'd also like to slow down the movement speed. It doesn't feel immersive when I'm going all Michael Johnson with every single movement.
