How to limit your framerate
MSI Afterburner - after launching open RivaTuner Statistics (it'll be in your systray) and set the "Framerate limit" to 90
You might also be able to accomplish this by setting the refresh rate to 120 in the Steam VR settings.
How to use a community mapping
steam vr overlay > settings > controller binding > skyrim > find a community binding
the Mr Oxidized one is great, and has a mod to add hotkeys. You can then customize the controls from here if you want.
You have to admit though that for a relatively new full price game (Skyrim VR was released a year and a half ago, and wasn't free to people that bought Skyrim the other two times it was released on PC) this lost developer support pretty fast. Buying the new VR hotness and having Skyrim be unplayable without making these changes is a bad look.
EDIT
The least Bethesda/their Steam team could do is sticky a guide for Index users.
Changed the frame limit to 90. Water glitches out at 120.
SkyrimVR has it downs, that for sure, and often enough told. On the other hand, if you are willing to fiddle around, then the advice to take a look at nexusmod its a good one.
There are tons of cool mods, which enhance the gameplay, and spending a bit of time, to install certains mods, will pay out.
To point out 3 Mods:
VRIK (which give you a interactive body) you literally not need to go in the menu for weapons, or spell, drinks. (which fixes with the controller bindings the Index Proplem)
Higgs: Gravity Gloves like in HL Alyx
Locational Damage: Does what you would expect. headshot ect ...
most mods works fine.. stick to Skyrim Special Edition.
However if you never modded Skyrim before, then there is a learning curve. With the Index Controller + VRIK its working pretty good, if you are willing to fiddle around ^^.

Here you go man, these are all auto-installing modpacks that will fix the game as long as you do a bit a of reading.

You move a couple of files and click the play button. You can do it in like 20 minutes.

Have you tried VRIK avatar and Index bindings ? (see link above)
*edit* Also check this bindings mod for the Index, with installer and details of what bindings are set

Like when I click Skyrim in the steamVR controller menu to edit bindings nothing happens.
Also my index controllers do nothing because there's no bindings for them at all
My vive wands work fine and can be edited and I also have no issues editing bindings on any other game it's only Skyrim
I think it may be a steamVR issue. I did try reinstalling both Skyrim VR and steamVR to no avail. Anybody got an idea why this would happen?
