How to select static furniture objects in console mode in VR?

I would love to get rid of some ugly furniture in the vanilla homes. Every time I try to select click from the screen on the object in console mode to mark for delete, I can't quite seem to capture the item.

Update: I tried the Placeable Statics mod and it appears to work well enough but would still love to know the non-modded way of doing things. Any tips appreciated.

Just pick them all up and stash them in a barrel, dresser or something

Hello. I am looking to remove statics- chairs, ugly furniture etc so I canplace them with rustic versions from the Hearthcraft mod. I've updated the original message to make it clear.

I'm pretty sure you can use the mouse just like in the vanilla game.

Yes you can use the mouse over the screen. However even when I think I am selecting something with a known ref id such as an NPC, a different ref id comes up.

Oh, sorry. The original post said “clutter”, which implies plates, baskets etc. Yes, it is much clearer now.
