Do you prefer joystick movement or teleport
Just got my Oculus Rift S and have been messing around with it the last few days. Noticed I have a slight headache and my left eye burns a bit. Eye strain I imagine. I imagine I will have to work up slowly to long sessions. Teleport is supposed to be easier on the motion sickness. Joystick feels more realistic however.

Play seated to start with and get used to the joystick movement. It's a lot more intuitive and immersive. Teleport is really only if you have severe problems with motion sickness but sitting down helps a lot.

Another couple of tips are:
Put a fan beside you to help you orient in the real world. It also helps to convince your brain that you're not actually moving and decreases the motion sickness.
Swing your arms if standing when you're walking in game as well. I don't know why but it helps a bit.

The headache and eye strain will go away in time. Remember you are effectively looking at a screen less than an inch from your eyes. Also make sure you have the horizontal setting on the headset positioned correctly to match the distance between your eyes. If it's slightly off, it can cause blurring that puts strain on the eyes as they automatically try to compensate.

My only problem is getting used to Vive touch controls for walking. It took ages to get used to just touching the pad to make him walk, instead of moving a joystick or pressing the pad and I still have problems stopping because my thumb is still too close to the pad and it's picked up by the pad sensors as a touch.

the point of VR is immersion and teleporting takes all that away. if given a choice I will always take the non-teleporting option! when I started playing this game (without teleport) I could only last about 20 minutes before I started getting sick. after about 2 weeks of playing 20 minutes at a time, the sickness just kind of went away.

also I highly recommend natural locomotion to use with this game

I use mostly teleport; stick movement when overloaded. (Horse riding is stick movement anyway)

Teleport has a much faster movement and you can reach postions which aren't possible with regular stick movement - without jumping and climbing. (also very useful in fights)
Additionally, stick movement feels to unnatural so I can use the teleport right away.
I'm a mage and not a hovercraft. (And btw... most mages in the fantasy genre can teleport)

I use full locomotion, standing. For me, it feels like the most immersive way to experience the game. Haven't had any nausea issues with this game, even with the cart ride, which I know has been uncomfortable for some people. Diving into the pool from Bard's Leap Summit was fun hehe.

I got Full Locomotion for this game, but it works well in a variety of others too and yes, add the mod for immersive seating and have a nearby bench so you can sit outside your game area but still lean in to it and add a voice mod so you can (if you want/can) read out your selections from the list it becomes really immersive really fast.

The downside.

A 1K walk can feel like a 1K walk.

Edit - a faster turning speed can actually help reduce motion sickness when turning and in my case eye strain too.

I do teleport because of nausea.

I configured teleport to act like snap move. So i turn using right stick and when I press left stick forward I instantly teleport about 6 feet forward, no transition just instantly. (backwards and side to side work like this too) This feels and works great. No nausea no headaches etc. You still see the teleport line so you can easily climb but it only goes out about 6 feet in front of You. To run you just flick left stick forward fast and you move fast but you never have the stamina issue using short teleport distance. For me this has transformed the game...that and lots of mods, I strongly recommend all the cathedral group of mods for weather, grass and perfect nights. It's amazing. I am playing using quest and virtual desktop on a 4790k (4.4GHZ)0+GTX1070 OC to 2.0 GHZ. ASUS AC2900 router with 5GHZ dedicated to Quest. Insider tip- turn off authentication on 5GHZ and use MAC whitelist to only allow quest. The security crap takes up too much and hurts streaming when bit rate really counts, and it does with VD. Let me know if I can help you get the most out of this game in VR. Ignore the trolls, this is the best value game in VR period.

I never had headaches without teleportation on moves (and i prefer 1000x with joystick smooth move in all games) BUT allways had when turning. For me turning must do instant little angle or i vomite everywhere... and i dunno why..

This worked best for me and was inexpensive since I already had the bar stool at home. I use a swivel bar stool so I am taller in game and can turn around while fighting or using archery. I then kick my legs as I am walking. Easy Peasy! No motion sickness and way too many hours in Skyrim VR - Good Luck :)

I've been trying to find a way to achieve exactly that, but to no avail. Could you elaborate on what / how you configured this?
Both but joystick for regular use and tele for "forward lunges/quick dash"
