Another couple of tips are:
Put a fan beside you to help you orient in the real world. It also helps to convince your brain that you're not actually moving and decreases the motion sickness.
Swing your arms if standing when you're walking in game as well. I don't know why but it helps a bit.
The headache and eye strain will go away in time. Remember you are effectively looking at a screen less than an inch from your eyes. Also make sure you have the horizontal setting on the headset positioned correctly to match the distance between your eyes. If it's slightly off, it can cause blurring that puts strain on the eyes as they automatically try to compensate.
also I highly recommend natural locomotion to use with this game
Teleport has a much faster movement and you can reach postions which aren't possible with regular stick movement - without jumping and climbing. (also very useful in fights)
Additionally, stick movement feels to unnatural so I can use the teleport right away.
I'm a mage and not a hovercraft. (And btw... most mages in the fantasy genre can teleport)
I got Full Locomotion for this game, but it works well in a variety of others too and yes, add the mod for immersive seating and have a nearby bench so you can sit outside your game area but still lean in to it and add a voice mod so you can (if you want/can) read out your selections from the list it becomes really immersive really fast.
The downside.
A 1K walk can feel like a 1K walk.
Edit - a faster turning speed can actually help reduce motion sickness when turning and in my case eye strain too.
I've been trying to find a way to achieve exactly that, but to no avail. Could you elaborate on what / how you configured this?
