Made any changes in between? Do you get to see the bethesda logo or does it crash before that?

I haven't made any changes, the game is bone stock. The game doesn't load to the main start menu, it only shows the banner with "Next Up" written below it. All other vr titles play without issue so idk why skyrim is being such a pain in the ass.

Having the same issue this past few days as well, SkyrimVR appears to have updated itself and crashes to desktop on launch since. In the past this happened with Skyrim SE when there was a new version of SKSE that needed installing but installing the latest version doesn't seem to have helped.

I was able to get the game to launch again. These are the steps I took (not sure which ones actually helped, YMMV)

- Disabled/uninstalled all of my mods
- Deleted SkyrimVR.ini from the folder with the other ini files
- Validated install in Steam
- Restarted computer, game was able to be launched at this point
- Reinstalled SKSEVR again
- Reinstalled entire mod list
- Sorted mods with LOOT
- Game now launches when SKSEVR is launched as admin, except several .dll based mods had to be disabled in order for it to not crash to desktop

Game now works but without the .dll using mods.

Interestingly, I noticed that the SteamVR update which happened immediately before this issue started occurring for me appears to have added a Skyrim item to the SteamVR home. Almost like compensation for an update breaking the game like it breaks every other time anything it relies on gets updated.

I will try this too.
I noticed a firmware and driver update for the occulus rift s before and thought it might have been a driver problem.
We will investigate.

Update: .dll it is.
I installed a clean unmodded version.
It starts finde.

I only installed the "Skyrim SE 3D Sound" as I know it indludes a dll.
Game won't start anymore.

Ok, it SEEMS so be that mod.
Skyrim SE 3D Sound
As it is installed by throwing it into the instal folder manually you might have forgotten about it.
When I remove it, my game is running.

My game isn't modded. My game is bone stock which is why i'm so confused about why it doesn't work.
Deathcurke 23 DIC 2019 a las 6:04 a. m.
oh, overread it, sry.

Did you checked every driver? (VR + GPU?)
Windows Update, NET Framework etc.?
Reinstalled the game?

Also try reinstalling Steam VR and make sure not to use the beta. <--- this should do the trick

Have the same problem, and installed the game vanilla and nothing, when I give it to play it does not start, I use oculus risft s:steamfacepalm:

I'm having the same problem as well. Worked a couple days ago (no mods, just vanilla), but never again. Shows the bethesda logo, then goes to the steamvr "loading" splash screen (I can hear ambient music in the bg); never loads. Spent all of today reinstalling it clean, but nope.
Thought maybe it was my save data because the bg sounds were where I saved it; deleted those, didn't fix it. Shot in the dark thought maybe it was my playerprefs; deleted it, didn't fix it.

same problem, it doesn't launch, I have ryzen 2700x, 16 gb ram, nvidia 1080 and Oculus Quest (using Oculus link). Every other game is played normally from steam.
Bethesda should answer this ASAP, it is a shame
popzkill 27 DIC 2019 a las 10:58 p. m.
any fix for this?
Deathcurke 2 ENE 2020 a las 1:03 p. m.
When you ever had installed some mods, make sure, the install folder is completly empty, before you reinstall the game.
also clear the Skyrim VR folder in documents / my games.
(backup your savegames before)

This will serve the purpose that you do not have any mod junk left what might prevent you from starting the game.
