- Disabled/uninstalled all of my mods
- Deleted SkyrimVR.ini from the folder with the other ini files
- Validated install in Steam
- Restarted computer, game was able to be launched at this point
- Reinstalled SKSEVR again
- Reinstalled entire mod list
- Sorted mods with LOOT
- Game now launches when SKSEVR is launched as admin, except several .dll based mods had to be disabled in order for it to not crash to desktop
Game now works but without the .dll using mods.
Interestingly, I noticed that the SteamVR update which happened immediately before this issue started occurring for me appears to have added a Skyrim item to the SteamVR home. Almost like compensation for an update breaking the game like it breaks every other time anything it relies on gets updated.
I will try this too.
I noticed a firmware and driver update for the occulus rift s before and thought it might have been a driver problem.
We will investigate.
I installed a clean unmodded version.
It starts finde.
I only installed the "Skyrim SE 3D Sound" as I know it indludes a dll.
Game won't start anymore.
Skyrim SE 3D Sound
As it is installed by throwing it into the instal folder manually you might have forgotten about it.
When I remove it, my game is running.
Did you checked every driver? (VR + GPU?)
Windows Update, NET Framework etc.?
Reinstalled the game?
Also try reinstalling Steam VR and make sure not to use the beta. <--- this should do the trick
Thought maybe it was my save data because the bg sounds were where I saved it; deleted those, didn't fix it. Shot in the dark thought maybe it was my playerprefs; deleted it, didn't fix it.
Bethesda should answer this ASAP, it is a shame
also clear the Skyrim VR folder in documents / my games.
(backup your savegames before)
This will serve the purpose that you do not have any mod junk left what might prevent you from starting the game.
