Vive is thicker padding and a bit heavier. How’s the anti google campaign going? First time I heard of an anti google campaign. First time for everything I guess. Can you change your name to firsty? Then you can say, “boy, am I FIRSTY!”
Firsty!!!
Thanks Firsty.
You didn’t say if you’re happy because you’re confused or in spite of it. You also didn’t specify what SS setting, which makes a world of difference. For example, steam recommends 1.64 for my 1080. I bumped it up to 1.80 and maintain a reprojection of 4.8. Not running enb and satisfied with these settings. You can check your reprojection in the steam settings.
All I had was the ingame SS slider halfway. I meant I was happy with how it looks in spite of not having full blown SS. I am curious though, is my hardware the absolute best you can get, or is there some more money I could drop somewhere that would allow this game to smoothly run full blown SS and ENB?
Sure, ditch the 1080ti and get a titan XP. You said you are running a 4790, that means you are running ddr3 so you could upgrade your motherboard, cpu and ram while you are at it. Not much point though if you are happy already. You have a very decent system already.
I think that different people are happy with different things. For me, i want SS and zero reprojection over an ENB mod. I don't know what half way on the in game slider is as i use the advanced steam vr settings for SS but i assume it is 1.5SS, which is decent but 2.0 is really nice to play at. If i was you id be ditching the enb and upping the SS.
It also depends on your tollerance for reprojection, some people don't notice it, in which case i would run both high SS and ENB cause it wouldn't really matter but damn, that ghosting etc of reprojection really annoys me!
I was reading today that both Nvidia and AMD have created a dual-card SLI api specifically for VR, where one card renders to the left eye and the other card renders to the right. But very few games support it. I look forward to the future when the games we want to play have this kind of dedicated-eye rendering, and we're playing with dual 1180ti's. ;)
Good to know. I was just about to upgrade from a 1070 to a 1080ti as well. Iv seen people mention that the price has stabilized in the US so i have been waiting for it to drop in my country but now i think i will wait. Thank goodnes for those guys that get their hands on these leaked emails huh. Thanks for the info.
At this time any upgrade from 1080ti is marginal. The latest edition of Vega consistently outperformes the ti, but upgrading every time a new card comes out is expensive. I usually skip a generation or two.
