It depends a lot on the game. I like head-based with strafing for instance in SubNautica. That game is VR Candy for me. On the other hand, it sucks donkeyballs in this one shooter I tried whose name I forget, because I just needed that much more freedom of movement. I think a lot of it has to do with how much non-foward movement you tend to actually NEED to play the game.
