Compatible mod that changes perk trees?
I tried installing two different per tree overhauls because I want to play a mage and the vanilla mage perks are a bit meh to say the least. Neither "Ordinator - perks of skyrim" nor "Path of sorcery - magic perk overhaul" works. The game crashes when I enter the trees with them enabled.

Anyone found a mod like this that actually works?

It is because there is no SKSE for VR (yeah there is the alpha build for SE but it is not really compatible). You can't actually change the peektree at all without a working script extender.

Aww. Do you have any clue if/when SKSE will come to this version of skyrim then?
skse isn't going to be updated.

apparently S.P.E.R.G works.

SKSE64 is still in Alpha since ages now. It was released nearly a year after Newrim was released. Now you can say it uses the same engine and it could be converted. That would work. But the Script Extender only works with a specific version of the game. Which means every update breaks the script extender (which is a problem with Newrim and Fallout 4 btw - Damn you Creation Club).

There could be a version, but to release it now or in the next month would be dumb, because of the workpower it would take.

Maybe we will See a Version earlier. Maybe not.

This one should work without SKSE:

But it sucks compared to the huge overhauls.

How can I check if a mod requires SKSE on the nexus website?

Ordinator needs SKSE ? It's not stated anywhere on the mod page :/

Apparently the reason why Ordinator doesn't work is because there's a cap on the amount of something like an 18 perk per tree limit. They just haven't found a workaround yet.
