Skyrim VR missing INI file for Nexus Mod Manager
I have followed the guide for setting up NMM for SkyrimVR and ran into a problem. I stopped the scan for SkyrimSE and redirected it to the SkyrimVR folder. After acknowledging that there wasn't an .exe file, i went to open it up. BUT when attempting to open SkyrimSE mod manager, a message pops up saying that the INI file is missing and i need to run the game for it to appear. I had already run the game and even made a basic Nord prisoner character but the file is not created. i tried to see if it was relocated but it doesn't exist. HELP PLEASE! :(

It's looking for the Skryim Special Edition ini file, you can ignore that message. Just make sure you copy your plugins.txt to the right directory.
tried to ignore it. it won't let me download anything to the mod manager
To fix the message, create the folder "Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition" and put a text file called "Skyrim.ini" in it (it doesn't matter what's in the file, all that matters is the name).

But there's also an issue now that you can't log in unless you have the latest beta of NMM, so that might be why you can't download.

It's probably true that it's easier to use Mod Organizer 2 at this point... I'm just used to NMM so I stick with it.
Do you have the latest version of NMM installed, which is 0.65.2?

i have the latest NMM beta and logging in is not an issue. i tried putting an ini file in that folder but it still says it's missing. i'm not sure if it needs certain contents to function but this is the main reason i'm stumped
SSE has a Skyrim.ini and a SkyrimPrefs.ini - try adding dummy ini files for both as per FolkSong's post
so i figured out the problem. the problem was i didn't have SSE downloaded. the guide says it is not needed for the mods but after the download, i've had no problems. thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it
Use vortex. It recognizes Skyrim vr and is all automated. Nmm will be phased out

im using vortex and it is telling me that the ini is not writeable, and that some games need to be ran atleast once before modding. ive had the game running multiple times and cannot get this error message to go away.
