Any bow aiming tips?
In some games you draw the bow string abck quite far and I have this vague notion I draw it back to my ear. This is difficult compared to looking down a rifle barrel, but if an English lord can do it then I certainly can... but any tips on aiming?

It's not proper, but I find holding the bow sideways like an OG makes it easier to line up shots. You can also get the Eagle Eye perk which helps a lot (it slows time and projects a crosshair when you hold the left trigger).

Aim for the thing you want perforated. Pull back the string and release.
Invaribly miss the first shot, as the arrow screams past the intended targets head.

Watch as said target turns around curious of the noise he heard. Let loose another arrow, flying wide over the targets shoulder, hitting a pot next to him - alerting both your target and three of his nearest friends that you didn't even notice was there.

Grumble as your target and his BFFs til the end unsheath their weapons and are now actively discussing how terrible your shots are. Pull arrow out, let loose and hit not the intended target, but the one to the right of him right in the left hip.

Worried now that they know - for realsies - you are here and shooting at them, the three of them march towards you as you frantically fire 4 shots in rapid succession. Two of which miss entirely, the other two hit and somehow finish the guy you wound previously, by shooting him in the foot (How did you even manage that, you were aiming high?) your final half-♥♥♥♥♥♥ arrow grazing your original intended target iron chestplate.

They're literally on you now, within striking distance of their iron hand-axe and dagger. You let out a mewling "FUS" (Because seriously, we all know you don't have the full three words unlocked for Unrelenting Force) stun and push back the two last bandits, you quickly run towards them, their melon heads mere inches from your bow and arrow, and you shoot them both in the head, killing the low-level bandits instantly.

You then walk feeling like you're the Skyrim incarnate of the Green Arrow, proud of your accompliments because ITS VR WOO!!!

Best tip I can suggest is finding an angle you're most comfortable with when taking aim. I.E. vertical, or a 30 degree angle, or as the poster above suggested, a completely horizontial posture. Then practice with something that doesn't move, or more importantly, shoots back at you. As arrows in Skyrim seem to soar forever, compared to most other VR games that has archery in it.

There is a bow aiming option in your options menu which puts the bow in front of you. I don't use this, I just got used to it by shooting wild life that runs away. Your front hand will aim the bow for you, and your arrow hand will aim the arrow. If your arrow hand is off then your shot will miss. They have target dummys in the prelude that you can train on. Archery is sweet in this game.

OP, have you tried the Scoped Bows mod? Makes aiming easier without being immersion-breaking, IMO.

And as mentioned above, precision aiming you do OG-style, and close quick shots are easier with a normal grip.

i rotate the bow, maybe 5 degrees, for a better view (it doesn't actually matter, i'm just more comfortable with nearly vertical). i draw straight to my cheek, slightly under my dominant eye so the shaft is as parallel as possible to my line of sight to the target. like lining up a shot with a long-gun that has no ironsights. works great. easy to land hits, even on rabbits that are a good 50 meters away.

I seem to hit stuff easily. I guess it depends if you are used to using your experience to aim rather than a sight. I seem to be able to anticipate movement, gravity and timing. The Eagle Eye is only any good once you get the talent that slows down time while you aim, otherwise it's not really that helpful.

I find it best to try using actual archery principles to help my aim (one example is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JofuiMclYAU ) now most of what you'll learn in these basic archery lessons won't really apply but one I find particularly helpful is the anchor, the point you use to mark your location, it exists to make sure you pull the arrow back the same way every time, this'll give you a lot more control keeping one point in determining where the arrow will fly in the same place will help you aim a lot easier, for me I rest my base thumb joint (the one right next to the wrist) against my headphones and have my quest controller ring pressed into the center of my cheek. The rest is just practice go to some of the target ranges in Skyrim and practice until you feel comfortable.
