Swimming?

Tried the realistic swimming mode and trying to make it work based on the instructions of "put your head under water and swim with your arms" but I just end up going forward then backwards over and over... Is there some special way to do it?

yeah good luck with that. Make sure you have your curtaians closed and your doors closed because you will look rediculous. I have the same problem in Skyrim and in Fallout 4. So to answer your question, no there is no easy button on realistic swimming.

Hold the triggers when your arms are forward until they are behind you (so you have moved forward), release the triggers while moving your hands back in front of yourself. A front crawl swimming action seems to give a good, constant forward motion.

I switched realistic swimming off. Better that way IMHO.

Once I got the hang of it is was pretty fun. The trick is to release the triggers at the right time and you continue forward with your momentum.
