Question about character creation.
I did search and could not find a thing so I suspect I might be missing something totally obvious.

In character creation (or mods like VR mirror) how can I zoom in on my character face, rotate, etc? From inventory, push on right thumbstick does the trick with items. But I so far was unable to zoom/rotate my character on creation screen.
Anyone can answer? Thanks.

Nobody? Is there NO way to do this or is it THAT simple and obvious? Cheers.

It's not doable in Skyrim. When it comes to VR you litterally are the character your playing. Just like in real life, unless you look at a reflection, you dont see yourself and this is the case in most VR games. In the case of Skyrim and Fallout (where there is a character creation screen) it's just a throwback to the desktop version of the game that sem translated into the port.

I'm 95 hours in and beyond the whole character creation sceen, I never see myself. It dosent even render the armour I'm wearing on my "in game" hands. As far as I see it, it was not a priority for the team porting it nor is it something they'll be worried about adding. For now, Skyrim VR is what it is and adding features outside of the old game are minimal.

Well, YOU definitely are not your character. You pick race/gender and game reflects those choices. Unlike games like Obduction where you are pretty much standard human, and do not need to identify with a different personality, in Skyrim you are stepping into a body that is most definitely not real you. The 'how can I see myself' question was there from launch, and 4000 unique downloads (8000+ total) of VR Mirror mod is also saying something. A lot of people care how their character looks in the game. Even though even in pancake, most play first person and NPCs never compliment on how nicely matched your outfit is or how good looking you are.

Far as I recall, in character creation, both thumbsticks do same exact thing. Would be great if one stick would work the sliders while another zoomed/rotated your character.

Just... walk up to them and look closer? I mean.. what?

Interesting. So pretty much have to be roomscale in order to do that. I guess that'll work, thanks.

I recall sort of being able to grab the character and rotate it around but for zoom you definitely have to physically approach it.

Your looks doesn't really matter 'cause you will never, ever see your character after you have created it. There is no 3rd person view, no killcams, no mirrors - nothing. The only way you can see it again is showracemenu-command.

... Or install VR mirror mod. Anyways, problem solved. Just got to physically step back before using it, then can just walk around my image to see from all sides.

Im sure you probably figured it out by now however, if you use VRIK, which allows you to have an avatar that you can see from first person perspective, then in the MCM you will have an option you can enable called selfie mode which allows you to raise your right hand in the air ant it puts you into 3rd person perspective. so long as you keep your hand in the air you can use your left thumb stick to move your character around so that they're not being obscured by the environment, however once you put your hand down your character stays right where they're at. and you have to raise your hand again to go back to first person perspective.
