re-request: Two Hand interactivity
I metioned this a little while ago and will mention it again since it has not been fixed yet.

can we please hold weapons with 'both' of our hands! otherwise at least a hand animation so we dont have a controler just floping about next to it. using two handed hammers makes me feel like the Hulk slapping bandits effortlessly with one hand and waving at them with the other. Crossbow feels like i am using the medieval equivalent to a handgun, and personally i found this to make acuraccy a little less effective.

could there be a furture update where we can have a little more immursion with two handed interactivity?

Thread one controller handle through the others donut, now try fighting and moving around at the same time...

Two handed melee weapons can be done in VR but it only really works with long handled weapons like axes or pikes where you can hold your hands quite far apart. 2 handed swords just don't really work.

well, that may work if you use VIVE. but Oculus touch are really small and compact as it is. you did hit one problem with movement, but personally i wouldn't see that as a problem if it meant it could stablise my crossbow effectivly. if you played VR games like ONWARD ond other it isn't that bad.

Melee weapons would be touchy. so have it as an option instead of a main feature. so people can still slap thier enemies like the hulk while others can have a more immusive touch :)

As i said before, VIVE may have an issue with the large wands, oculus controllers are very small as it is, even still, having a 'sticky' hand mechanisim for VIVE and Oculus would fix the problem entierly. you wont have to hold your hand in the exact spot. but you can still swing it like a REAL weapon...not some foam nerf stick :D

Just put your hands together and swing them like you want to swing them. It sounds like you're asking to be forced to do it that way.

This is the only real way you can do it now and for smaller handeled weapons is the best option. Most of the melee in this game isn't 'great' anyway so you have to RP a little with weapons to get the most out of them. Sadly, full games dont have systems like GORN in them yet.

It would be possible to track the position of the hands relative to each other and apply a damage buff effect while the hands are within a certain distance. Add a little haptic pulse in and out to provide some feedback when your hands are in position and it might be enough? Or flip it around and apply a debuff if you hands aren't close enough together. Actually modifying the angle of the sword is much trickier, you'd have to override the position of the holding hand using something like the open VR input emulator, doable but not sure if it's really worth it.

That's from a modding perspective. obviously Bethesda could do a better job if they wanted to, but I still say I've yet to use a short handled 2 handed weapon that worked well in VR. You are still wielding a weightless item and without anything physically connecting your two hands it just feels awkward to me, long handled weapons are better because the relative position between your hands is much less sensitive to small changes.

Yeah, that is the crux of the issue. There are many software tricks you can do to promote keeping hands closer or give the illusion of weight (again, GORN does this very well using decent physics and multiple hold points on massive weapons) But nothing will be as good as physically holding something in your hand. I believe if we are to keep controllers, newer designs should consider things like snapping them together or simply to be even more accessory friendly. Some people have come up with some really interesting rifle stocks for example.

I certianly can't think of a true solution for weight however, but some things are a little tough to replicate lol.

cant we at least stablise our crossbows with the other hand?! i mean yeah as you guys pointed out with the two handed melee weapons it is diffuclut for said reasons. but adjusting my aim would mean i could actually use the crossbow effectively (not make one, use it once, get anoyed and sell it imediately). really hoping fallout 4 didn't have one handed Miniguns, assult rifles or snipers, almost refund worthy if it did....

Probably never get this from a port unfortunately

Twohandedness is generally immersion breaking in VR unless you have moving parts.
Things that could be adjusted would be damage if both hands are closer together etc.

Just roll a female dwarf and pretend you're a very generic looking Loli.

Yes fallout 4 is the same, on that I found a way to thread the vive wands into an L shape to create a rudimentary stock butt so I could stabilise rifle shots, wouldn't work with touch controllers unfortunately

No not with Touch haha, i still find it odd how this has not been looked into in both Skyrim and Fallout VR, Onward you can literally stabalise your rifle (and even pistol!) with two hands. regardless of distance or angle of grips, the 'Sticky' Hand mechanic works fine, and is extreamilty helpful in stablising weapons for long range shots! ( unlike skyrim's crossbow that even the slightest movement will miss those long range snipes...)

what this mechanic means is that you can have your hand slightly up, down, sideways or twisted, as long as it is in proximity of the grab point it will stablise and control the weapon. crossbow problem solved! for both Vive and Oculus without having to RP the scenario!

As for Melee weapons, the movement can be a bit of a problem, but even with duel one-handed this is evident. you can get used to it realitivly easy. for weapons like the Greatsword with tightened grip-points (too small for Vive to use comfotably) the proxinity feature would be fantastic! players could then use both hands to swing and club thier enemies like a REAL WEAPON! of couse, this feature if added could be optional, so those comfortabe with the current system don't get hindered. :)
