Mod organizer 2 problem
It's suposed to be the best mod manager for Skyrim VR but Skyrim VR doesn't show for me on the list.

Theres always a workarohnd check the Skyrim VR reddit for the rundown further in the convo someone will explain the name change to SkyrimSE or something to trick the mod loader. I use Vortex (the new NMM) and it found Skyrim VR fine. Pretty easy to use and handles issues on the fly. I used MO in vanilla and SE but quite like Vortex now for some reason...

Vortex is nice but I had bug which uninstalled all mods for me :( So friend told me MO2 is better which it isn't because it doesn't have Skyrim VR support which Vortex has.

Do what I do and downlaod from nexus manually so you always have a backup in case the database gets purged or you have to uninstall for a conflict. Save the RAR files in the mods folder and drag and drop them into Vortex from there. Either way wont be long before all the managers get on board effectively and all the bugs ironed out.

They're all doing the same job, pros and cons etc. People prefer mod organiser because it's much more versatile in what you can do to get a stable build, whereas Vortex is much more 'user friendly' but denies more of the nitty gritty options and settings. I've been modding for awhile though so lazy mod loader for me, can deal with any backlash if it occurs. Touch wood though for an early build Vortex is really holding its own for me, it's much more robust than people realise.

Hope you get it all sorted though!

I would drag and drop but it stopped working for me in vortex 14.1...
It's all a mess. And even when I have backup, reinstalling for example Interesting NPCs mod takes considerable ammount of time.

you need the latest version then download the plugin DLL then you go to the icon on the top left to change the installation / game target then choose portable, it will make a new page with no mods yet

MO2 does work with SkyrimVR (and is excellent), but the NexusMod site hasn't been updated yet. Until a new release is published to the website, you just need to download an extra DLL and drop it into your MO2 plugins folder so that it recognises it. You can get it from their Discord server:

https://discord.gg/5tCqt6V

under Releases > #builds

If you can't get to the Discord server using the link above, try putting it into the Discord app instead (that worked for me). Otherwise check the Nexus page:

I didn't explain very well, it cant be added as an executable it has to be a new game entirely, so as if you were installing fallout into mod organizer, but even 2.1 doesn't recognize skyrim vr as being a game which exists so you have to get the plugin and put the DLL into MOs plugins directory. Then open MO and click the icon which allows a 'new installation / select game ' and select portable type,. after which it should detect skyrim vr as a new game.

So if Mod Organizer 2 does not detect Skyrim VR even with this plugin, then what's the point of it then?

You're doing it wrong. use the newest dev build, put the SkyrimVR plug in in the plug ins folder, load MO up, and make a new instance. Boom it works.
Did all that, boom it doesn't work :]

Can you provide the full path for your mod organizer exe and your plugin dll, mine for example are:
C:\games\utils\MO2-test\ModOrganizer.exe
C:\games\utils\MO2-test\plugins\game_skyrimvr.dll

The updated code is on github if you want to build it yourself. The devs are providing RC and hot fixes on the discord channel.
