Any way to verify that all or specific mods are in effect?
Well guys, I am totally new to the whole modding thing. I closely followed all the steps that need to be done for Mod installing via Nexus Mod Manager. That means I downloaded 40 essential mods started the game and was very happy when everything looked way better than the vanilla version.

That said since I also installed all the 2017 HD textures I am not quite sure if really every mod is in effect in game. Maybe I am just happy because the textures look so much better.
Is there any way to verify that a mod is used in game? I am especially interested in the Flora Overhaul Mod that I installed.

The only thing I did with all those 40 mods was downloading them via NMM (and they all appear in the various sub-folders (like weapons, patches, characters etc.) in NMM. I then did this "copy the plugins.txt from Skyrim Special Edition folder to the Skyrim VR folder and you should be good to go". As I said so far the game looks gorgeous now but since I didn't use any specific loading order I am not quite sure if everything is properly used in game!

Any help is appreciated!

Easiest way is to deactivate a particular mod, start up the game and examine the things it is supposed to change, then activate the mod, re-load and see if anything changed.

Naturally, some mods are more obvious than others particularly those that change object meshes or textures.

Did you add the following line to your INI file?

[Launcher]

bEnableFileSelection=1

Yes I did add that line and I already tested some specific mods by activating/disabling them. Thanks for the help!

I used this guide after i did all the steps you did. It should sort all the mods in the correct load order. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimvr/comments/89foby/guide_how_to_get_loot_working/
Not 100% sure if all works correctly because i only tested a few minutes but it looks a lot better. And get some notifications at the beginning some mods get loaded. But clearly not for every mod i installed.

If you want to be able to get achievemnts with mods you should try this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/245/?tab=files
Not sure if this works but i didnt get the Warning Message anymore.

I don't get it! When I first did my mods via Nexus Mod Manager it seems everything was loaded correctly (and I even didn't use Loot).

Then I uninstalled everything due to different reasons and reinstalled everything (plus even more Mods) . This time I used Vortex which already is SkyrimVR compatible and should make things even easier.

At first glance everything looks good. But when I launch the game and try to load my recent save the game tells me that numerous mods aren't available anymore (although they are all installed).
Prior to launching I managed all mod dependencies so everything should be ok. I even used Loot but somehow it seems a lot of mods aren't loaded correctly.

There is one more thing I don't get. When using Vortex, the client warns you about any mod conflict and you are given the opportunity to set the correct loading order. Now when I use Loot on top of Vortex doesn't Loot completely ignore the loading rules I set in Vortex!?

I never understand why noobies start off with dozens of mods when there’s about 6 that have the greatest global impact. Yes, some mods overwrite textures of others so be mindful of performance issues. Saves are impacted by mods and loading a game that was saved with mods can either activate the mods or generate an error. There’s a good chance texture mods will increase shimmering as the originals have been optimized for vr.

Check your plugins.txt in %localappdata%\Skyrim VR

You need to paste it over from the %localappdata%\Skyrim Special Edition

Exactly how I did it. But as I said most of my mods are working. I am just surprised that some mods in the plugins.txt aren't loaded correctly although I didn't expect any conflicts with them (like Sounds of Skyrim).....

Found the solution! Being new to Vortex I downloaded all the mods, installed them and enabled them under the tab "Mods".

When I checked the tab "Plugins" moments ago I found out that all my mods appeared as "disabled" under this tab. When I enabled them under "Plugins" a similar plugins.txt was created (similar to the one that was created by enabling the mods under the tab "Mods") with seemingly the only difference of an asterisk in front of every plugin.

I remember this asterisk also being part of the plugins.txt when I was using Nexus Mod Manager. And now - it seems - all my mods are loaded correctly!

Thank you! That was exactly the problem: everything was enabled on Vortex's Mods tab, but I didn't know I had to do the same on the Plugins tab. Something so simple, but nobody tells you.
