it will run 90fps smooth

VR needs to run at 90fps or it's a horrible experience. This game will run like a dream on your 1080 and you'd be able to add some mods, as well as turning up the super sampling. If you love Skyrim, you should definitely jump in. I'm having a fantastic time.

i dont love skyrim, i think its okay, but i been waiting to step into VR.

I have never touch VR in my life, how does it work.

I know u cant fully move irl or you would smash into stuff, but if i have like 4 square meters free room i can move irl, would that work as free roam in the game?
If it does would it be possible to dodge enemy attacks by moving IRL?
Can you block by moving your sword to clash with an enemy sword?

Whats better HTC Vive vs Oculus Rift

You pretty much have the same setup as me, i have evga gtx1080 ftw, i7-6700k at 4.5ghz and 16gb 3600mhz ddr4 ram, it runs like a dream on all max settings, never drops under 90fps, most ive seen is 85% gpu usage. running it on oculus rift and the touch controllers work well. you can swing your sword like in real life, a lot of fun.

Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses to be honest so it is hard to comment on which is "better" as ultimately, they're very similar.
Whilst I don't think you'd regret purchasing a headset, I would really recommend trying one before buying. The good news is your rig is very capable so you're not too far away from being set up with a high-end VR experience.
I personally have a Vive with a 2.5m x 3m space and it is extremely good fun jumping around to dodge attacks or dish them out. Look up a game called Gorn for the ultimate in melee battles - Skyrim is a little bit weak in this department but still a ton of fun.
Different games have different movement options - most newer titles are starting to include free locomotion similar to what you'll be used to playing "pancake" games but that can be dodgy for making people motion sick so there's a tried and tested teleporting method in most games.
It's not just about games either, there's so many fun experiences that you can't really understand by watching a video.
Check out Sweviver's channel on Youtube as he has all the headsets and has a light-hearted outlook on things.

I;ve got a 980 ti (other specs are same as yours) and all VR games run at 90 FPS for me.

Come on... I'm playing this on a gtx 960 4gb. Of course not at max settings, but it can handle around medium well.

I have a 980 and it runs full FPS.

i have never used or owned VR so yes it is

Normal PC games i would know exactly how well i would run something but VR is different, just because my pc can annihilate skyrim on normal keyboard and mouse it might not on VR, because i read VR needs FAR higher specs

I have a 1070 and a vive pro and even on 100% video (recomends 70%) im running smooth as butter. you should be able to go higher than 100 for sure.

If VR runs at 30 FPS for you, you will know very quickly since you will probably be puking.

A 1080 can run the game at 90 FPS where it should be and you don't want to be running under that. Just be careful installing mods and cranking up resolution scaling so that you don't stop the game from running at 90 FPS.

I don’t have a sword in real life.

How you change video from 70% to 100%?
