Help..... Modding troubles.

So I dedicated today to modding my game and I decided to just start simple. I am trying to get Alternate start working. Nothing else at all. Just trying to figure this out.

So.... I have modified the skyrim prefs file by adding this as instructed:

[Launcher]
bEnableFileSelection=1

I have tried using Mod Organizer 2 as well as Vortex to install and enable this mod. And the same thing happens reguardless of what I use.

Here is what happens when I try and run the game.

The game starts fine so I go to start a new game. The dialog pops up and says that mods are installed and achievements are disabled..... do I want to continue?

I say yes and then nothing...... The game just nevers starts at all after this. Plus I have to control alt delete to close the game..... Basically i have to control alt delete out of everything and restart my computer to get things back to normal. Steam seeme to get stuck on launch in VR and that can't be changed without completely rebooting the entire computer.. Restarting Steam can't be done at all.... very weird.

So I know I must be doing something wrong..... But what?

Please someone smarter than me.... help...

I'm not sure Alternate Start even works correctly, but what most people forget is that you have to update the plugins.txt file with your mod file names.

the plugins.txt file is located C:\Users\#YourUsername#\AppData\Local\Skyrim VR

and should list all your active mods like this

*SkyrimVR.esm
*Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp
*Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm
etc
etc

Yeah I did that too.... Still getting the same trouble..

Thanks. I will try that.

I tried the console command and could only get the the prsion cell.

Unbound works as a alternate start per reddit. and others. I have not tried it yet but have it for a futrue play.
