Weapon switching.
How do you switch equipped weapons? Do you have to just put them in favorites and select them when you want? I'm so spoiled by mouse wheel weapon switching in most games. Just to give an example, I equip a bow and then all of the sudden I get ambushed from behind by a wolf. No way to insta equip my melee weapon?

Yeah you need to use the favourites list, or y'know...shoot the wolf with your bow :steamhappy:

In the origonal Skyrim you could highlight a weapon-set in your favorites list and press a number on your keyboard. It would then associate to that number.

Been trying to figure out if I can do that on motion controls but doesn't look like it.

The closest we might get right now is to strap a tiny wireless keyboard to our arm.
Not sure that would really be faster though. Or if it even works because I think keyboards are disabled while in motion control mode?

Voice commands and marco's might be an option to look into if you want to get crazy with it.

Yeah that's the slow annoying way that we're forced into now. It's only one step shorter than going to your inventory.
Even in origonal skyrim you could number hotkey your fav list. That's what I was trying to get at before.

In fallout 4 vr there was a handy radial menu, but they've not implemented that in Skyrim for some reason. Maybe they figured it was radial menu or fav list but not both so they went with the list so as not to limit it to 8 options. Would like the radial to be honest but on my current play through it's not an issue as I basically just switch back and forth between a bow and a sword. Can see it being annoying going as a mage though when you might be switching and changing a lot more.
There are probably some creative mod solutions, voice recognition is already available for one.

Here is an example of why this matters in playstyle immersion and isn't just about being lazy.

Lets say I'm a sneak archer.
I want to shoot a bow and come in for the kill using my dagger.
That feeling of getting the kill is interupted by...

Press Fav Button
  • Select dagger.
  • Unselect dagger becuase its the wrong hand as you use your other hand for menus
  • Reselect dagger for correct hand.
Press Fav Button

Now finally, make the kill... by now I'm bored and it wasn't as amazing as it should be.
And also it's now a menu game. Which is NOT VR.

In the origonal Skyrim you can do that with a hotkey numbers on your fav list without ever opening it again..
In VR you can not.

All I ask is for a mode-switch key of some type. Like double grips + both triggers = change everything else to number hotkeys.
Something like that would work. But no couldn't be bothered to put any practical options in. We can't even rebind our controller buttons to start with.

In original Xbox, you could map two items in favs to the left or right arrows, and fast swap without any menus. Make that up and down on the right touch pad, and center remains fav menu.do it devs
