Movement Issues (Oculus Rift)
Hey All,

Bought this game yesterday and noticed an issue with the movement when I am looking down or at an angle. As is, when I look down the movement seems to become reverse (forward is back and so forth). Makes looting a bit of a hassle. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a fix?

Thanks for the help!

Same here. Seems that when i look straight down the game belives i (the HMD) turning 180 degrees.

Right. I have been play testing a bit and noticed that when you move the left touch controller (Right is selected as primary) in space it moves as if you are moving the thumb stick. Note, you have to be pressing forward on the thumb stick to make this happen. I think it may be something involving the 2 inputs (motion and analog) getting mixed up.

Also, if you put the controller in the neutral position in space, the problem goes away and acts like you would expect.

Its to do with the direction of the controllers. Point them down and forward will go backwards.

Luckily for you I'm here to save the day: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16242

Download that tool and run it. Copy and paste this into the search box: bUseWandDirectionalMovement

The current value will be set at 1 so change it to 0 and exit. Thats it! Now will move in the direction of the stick you press!

Is there a way to make it is it wont then default to move you foward in the direction your head is facing once you make this change? I like being able to walk foward and look around whilst still walking straight.

My advise is to get used to the controller tilt movement with your off dominant hand. Its actually really fun once you get used to it. But it takes about 2 hours to really get the hang of it.

There really is no "getting use to it" when what you want to do is move forward and attack with your offhand. Once you move to HMD based movement (at least on the Rift and WMR 'cause ALLELUIAH! thumbsticks), the game becomes much more natural in combat.

i started the tool and got rid of the problem. but now my character moves a little bit into the direction i'm looking (when i look around while following a straight pass). anyone noticed that too? any help for that?

So it is possible to change it to head based movement. This does take away from the freedom to look around when walking. In games like "From Other Suns" there is a 3rd option, seated based movement and this one I would want.
For now I will try to get used to controller based movement
