I previously played the original release though, not SE. I don't believe they fixed any game play bugs when porting it to VR, so whatever bugs were present in SE will still be there.
Not so good about the mods, but at least now I feel more certain I don't need to feel about about not using them.
Thanks for your response.
worst case scenario for non skeaver mods is they don't fully function
There appears to be another here too: USSEP VR Fixes[www.nexusmods.com]
No idea how stable any of this is though!
Probably not too stable.
Just to make clear why using the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch on VR is a big hassle that could lead to unintended issues:
The mod "SkyrimVR USSEP Compatibility Patch" is no longer needed as of version 1.2 of the "Skyrim VR USSEP Fixes" mod
However, the "Skyrim VR USSEP Fixes" mod is no longer supported or updated.
If you want a version of USSEP that works with SkyrimVR, you have to private message AerowynX to get the mod (because Arthmoor the creator of USSEP is hostile to any mods allowing his USSEP mod to work with SkyrimVR and would demand such a mod be removed)
------------------------
So why do you need the mod "SkyrimVR USSEP Fixes" to use USSEP?
Skyrim VR is built off version 1.3 of Skyrim Special Edition (SSE). Any updates since that point to either Skyrim VR or SSE may have diverged in various ways.
SSE and Skyrim VR are updated asynchronously. A patch for SSE may come out, while a patch for Skyrim VR is still in the making. Said Skyrim VR patch then may or may not contain the same changes as were made in the SSE patch - they may diverge further, or converge at that point.
Changes are added to SSE for Creation Club support that will never be added to Skyrim VR. It has been confirmed that Bethesda has no plans to add Creation Club or official modding support to Skyrim VR.
As USSEP is only supporting SSE - they must follow and account for changes made to SSE, not Skyrim VR. If any of those changes break compatibility with Skyrim VR, the Unofficial Patch Team are not responsible for said issues, nor are they responsible for providing an outdated version of their mod to work with Skyrim VR.
------------------------
So if USSEP requires mods to make it work with SkyrimVR, and such mods would have an attempt to be removed by Authmoor, and an unexpected (but possible) new SkyrimVR patch from Bethesda would require an update to USSEP and consequently an additional mod to make it work with SkyrimVR, and updating USSEP to a version beyond the version supported by any SkyrimVR-enabling USSEP mods would break USSEP, it just isn't worth it. Besides, USSEP probably introduces new bugs. But people are more likely to find bugs in officially patched Skyrim editions because more people will play that way than will play with mods. If Bethesda's paid developers wont fix all the annoying bugs, I don't expect modders would necessarily do better. I think I will just read about what bugs exist in officially patched SkyrimVR and see workarounds or how to avoid causing the bug. Skyrim Unleashed VR seems like a good mod for the game though.
You can use USSEP, just not the most recent version.
Ah crap this board breaks my link and brings you to the NOT compatible version instead.
Check what the auto moderator here says:
https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimvr/comments/15nzgxz/ussep_for_vr/
besides that, read this (beginners guide to modding the VR version of Skyrim. Do not skip because you know the SE version. A lot of mods need a special VR version or older versions:
https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimvr/comments/qpkdqc/for_modding_start_here/
Alternatively use a VR related Wabbajack (must be VR related because others will not use the VR compatible version of mods and CTD at game logo.
