adjust height?
So when I set up the world scale to be accurate to real life, I'm as tall as a toddler... How do I adjust that? No, I'm not in seak mode or anything. Ive already checked. Theres gotta be a way to change that. When I scale the world to normal height, all the sudden everyone else around me is like child size. When they are as big as they should be in real life... I'm no taller then a dwarf. Bsicly,when I am eye level with the NPC's, they are so tiny its weird looking.. It's like looking at a really tall kid.

The size problem is one of the Vives, It's not a problem on the Oculus, many people have said this on youtube, best thing for setting height is the advanced settings mod, which gives you another section in Vive home to set player height independent of the game.

I am using an Oculus though....

advanced settings mod will not work then I guess?
they always look to thin to me as well, see it in other games, people are the same height but look elfish.

you have to go into the VR/Video settings in the game and manipulate the world scale view slider.
By default you are kid sized.

Has anyone found a solution to this? The game still makes me very small.

I play ( or Played ) on an oculu rift. This problem has made me stop playing a year ago i guess, as I have NOT found anything that works. The dam dog is taller than I am and I can't seem to be interested in playing like that.Nothing I have done has made any difference.. uninstall re install start a new game NOTHING. fallout 4 VR is the ONLY game affected . I also own skyrim vr and iy is fine.

Are the makers of VR version are gomes ?! :steammocking:
Same issue here. A simple height setting would be nice.

Find

Fallout4Custom.ini and Fallout4VRCustom.ini . Fallout4VRCustom.ini might not exist, if not, create it in notepad and change it from .txt to .ini

Add these two lines to the both of them;

[VR]
fVrScale=80

Change fVrScale to whatever fits you, 80 is about right for me.

I don't beleive you actually need the Fallout4VRCustom.ini, but the original guide I found said to put it in both so I did.

Thx, that works. 90 for me. 120 is funny.
I maxed out the worldscale in settings and use 90 as scale.

But I had to name the config Fallout4Custom.ini not Fallout4VRCustom.ini.
I like it is in the common Fallout4. The VR in the filename will not be taken in my Fallout4VR.

The SkyrimVR has additonal setting. Maybe some of them also work for Fallout4VR.

Editing or creating a text file is over your head? Don't mean this to sound insulting or anything but PC gaming might not be the place for you. Everything is easier and "ready out of the box" if you play on consoles.

ya i understand... but you might think that this is a KNOWN issue for a lot of players and since we paid good money for the product......it would be 'user friendly" or at least be fixed.
if it is such an easy fix........why don't they do it in an update to keep the customers happy ? because right now.....I am not very thrilled with Bethesda's performance.

It won't get fixed because Fallout4VR is something they contracted out to a third party and then abandoned because there's no money in it. Same reason they haven't ported the DLC over, it's not worth Beth's money or time.

So if you want to make the game playable, you have to do it yourself.

Did everything in this thread and nothing worked. I'm still about 6 inches tall. Anyone come up with any other fixes?
WRONGTURN Jul 9, 2020 @ 9:33pm
I did this and it worked for me FINALLY.. I entered the consloe command player.setscale 2 enter or substitute whatever number ..you can just experiment and see. that is ----player(dot )setscale space number enter then adjusted the ingame world scale adjustment
