How to aim down reflex sights?
As a typical European, I never held a gun in my life (don't remember even seeing one live either), so pardon my ignorance, but I like the idea of actually aiming weapons rather than using VATS. I've been reading about it, and I feel confident now with regular iron sights, especially the glowing ones -- I'm still closing my non-dominant eye even though I hear shooting with both open is better -- but the reflex sight on the pipe pistol seems to consist only of an empty scope with two prongs, but no front sight to line them up with. Am I missing something? Other aiming tips are welcome too.

It's kinda hard to notice because it's a really small green dot that's easy enough to lose track of aganst a well lit enviroment. It's not suppose to be this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but the sights and scope weren't updated for VR (seriously, the dot is smaller than a pixel on the Vive) so we gotta make do!

Reflex sights are pretty cool because of how they work, they project a light onto a plane of glass which will give you a really good idea of what you're about to hit even if you're not perfectly aligned with the gun https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reflector_sight

As for shooting tips, I'm an amuteur myself too. All I can say is to make sure you adopt a good stance!

Yea i think a scope is to remove the need to look at a front sight?

It doesn't really work in VR as Bethesda was just too lazy to work on it. So a modder fixed it.

I know what you're talking about. The reflex sight for pipe weapons isn't really a functional optic to use. It looked stupid in non VR and it's completely non functional in VR. You can't aim using 2 metal prongs going horizontal with nothing else to aim with.

Everyone else is talking about a normal reflex sight.

First you bring the gun out in front of you about eye level. Then you are going to want to line up the sights on the weapon on the target. Then boom, you did it.

Reflex sight utilize the partial reflection of the light from glass to permit your eye to aim at your target without the eye being aligned with the bore of the firearm. because the projector is aligned with the bore, it no longer matters where your eye is in relation to the bore, the movement of the reflection is always proportional to the eye and bore. All you have to do is place the dot on the target

Necromancer!

Again thou, he wasn't talking about what your talking about. The pipe weapons don't have a normal reflex sight. They have two metal prongs that have no real function.

Thanks for all the (no help) guys. To zoom in with a sniper rifle (iron sights) simply bring your controller up to your face as you would with a real nug... I... I... I mean Gun.

You commenting on a thread that's 4 years old asking how to ADS in VR. Which is like, troll material to begin with.

I've found using the outdated stance of standing straight with one arm outstretched and locked in place and using your wrist to maintain your sight-picture and simply shooting like that. I've been using the Pipe revolver because I reckon using two handed weapons single-handed looks too silly for me and found I can be remarkably accurate from quite substantial distances using this stance and the long range shooting stance of putting my left arm out at a parallel to my body (be careful you don't go into pip boy mode) and rest my firing hand on my left arm.
