Finally got things running smooth
This game is so much more awesome when the graphics are clear and theres not fps drops everywhere. Jesus christ, it's finally playable for me and it took a lot of time and testing to get it to work proberly. Almost no reprojection, clear graphics and a world to explore. I'm in love!

Didnt you just claim all over the place yesterday that this is the greatest game ever and it runs super great and everything is great about it? ;)
Not so great anymore? Seems to run like ♥♥♥♥ on high-end PC's? I could have told you before, since it is Fallout 4 with an engine that was never supposed to work at more than 30 fps...

I mean srsly, its fine when you admit you should not have bought it in this state. We are on the internet, noone comes to your house to shame you about it or TP your house. :)

Get yourself a refund. This will not ever get better. If you dont believe me, just look up what the engine behind F4 is supposed to do and what it must do for VR.

It will require some work from you if you want it, but it can be done within minutes if you skip the mods. You might also wanna skip the first step with mods as it is quite complicated and time consuming, but it will give you a 5-10 fps more atleast.
Install mods: "Fallout 4 - Texture Optimization Project" and vivid landscapes. Vivid landscapes is far easier to install, many will probably wanna skip the first mod for sure.

For TAA settings google "TAA tinker test for Fallout 4 VR reddit" and its the first one. Follow instructions.
For ini settings google "Perma-Fix for Fallout VR FPS Issues, Ugly TAA, and Player Height!!! reddit"
First one, follow instructions. I did change some settings like shadows from 256 to 1024, shadowdistance to 3000 and iMaxAnisotrop to 16, because the settings were to ugly.

Finally: set the fallout4vr SS to 1 and personally I'm running the steam SS at 1, and yes, the graphics are clear as daylight without reprojection all the time and the blurriness of TAA before or aliasing without TAA. It's perfect. So yes, keep TAA on after you edit the settings for TAA.

Oh, and use the beta.

Depending on your setup you might wanna go up in SS or down, should still be far better than anything else you've tried. The main problem is that running this at high SS like 1.5 causes reprojection, running it with low SS and TAA causes everything to get blurry. Here it's fixed by getting low SS for better fps and fixed the TAA for blurriness :)

Thank you for testing and posting your results.

Clear as daylight you say? Well, i got some good results with my own tweaks so far, but lost game stability. I might give this a try!

Ha.. thats almost the exact steps I used last night. I'll try looking for those Fallout4VR specific TAA settings now. Post um when Ive tested if anyone wants the specifics here instead of going to plebbit.
