Has anyone tested this on a GTX 1060 6GB?
I might be getting a Rift this Christmas (I'm aware of the controller issues, and I'm guessing that by Xmas, there will be some sort of fix or I can just live with them) and I want to get this game (before you tell me it's not worth $60, I do not own Fallout 4, so $60 for a VR version is fine for me).

However, my specs are below the minimum at 16GB RAM, Intel Core i7 6700, and Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6GB.

Has anyone tested this on similar hardware?

i5 3570k with a gtx 1060 3gb here. I have had a few times that game crashed on me and had to make new settings. I used ASUS GPU Tweak II to run in overclock and put my fan on 75% power full time. I also used it to turn off just about everything and so far seems to have fixed that problem. Will it hold when I get to a very busy area? Only time will tell.

Oh, that doesn't sound too great :/

Then again, that is a weaker 1060 and the i5 3570k is quite a bit weaker than an i7 6700.

it will run, bethesda are morons who put lowest "requried" way above what it needed to be.
i tested it on a GTX 1060 which my 2nd pc has, and a GTX 970 which my primiary PC has, both was running!

Runs well enough on my 1060 6gb. Though it runs much better since I did a bit of modding and tweaking about with ini files. Vivid Fallout is a good mod to both improve the textures and reduce the overhead. I think dropping the shadow map res to 1024 also helped some.

Since it is only out for vive it is a bit silly buying the lesser rift. Vive is the only way to go.

The 1060 will require tweaking, as will the rift

Now you’re a moron for not being greedy? That makes a lot of sense lol

The Rift isn't 'lesser' than the Vive. It's almost exactly the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ same.

You may have some shader issues, but that seems to be about it. Occasionally it will cause a crash.

Hardware, yes, privacy policy, no. https://www.vrheads.com/vr-and-your-privacy-how-are-these-companies-treating-your-data

"It says very plainly in the privacy policy that Oculus Rift is collecting and sharing your movements and dimensions, everything from the slightest tilt of your head to the flick of your wrist to the size of the room you're in. The company states that all of that information is necessary to help make your game experience more immersive; they also use the data to make improvements on future games. But permanently storing that data, and then sharing it? That's a bit invasive.

Let's add to that the fact that Facebook bought Oculus Rift in 2014. This means that whatever Oculus knows, Facebook knows, and that's unnerving for lots of people."

I honestly don't give a ♥♥♥♥ if Oculus knows the dimensions of my room and the way I move in VR lmao.

my friend played it on a 1060 with 6GB and says it plays just fine
Bob Loblaw Mar 3, 2018 @ 6:51am
Plays fine on a GTX970, a 10% slower card with only 4GB, even with stock textures. Lower that shadow detail!
