They need to let us play with an Xbox One controller
I doubt the will implement this because they purposefully want to keep it VIVE only, but they truly need to let us play with an xbox controller.

You don't have to buy the game again, and it's "worse" because there is no arm tracking.
I don't know why you would want an FPS in VR to use controller, but vorpx has offered that to all fallouts for a while now.
Do some research before you spend money.

Why would anyone wanna play VR with a controller? You might as well sit close to a screen with controller in hand and pretend that its a vr.

To be fair, alien isolation vr with a controller is excellent.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bethesda omitted controller support to prevent Rift users from having a means of playing the game. Originally the game was supposed to support seated play, but this was removed from the description prior to launch. Incidentally, playing with a controller is perfectly feasible with Skyrim VR.

Why would anyone want to play standing up.... you might as well just walk out your front door and go play some real sports and pretend that you're playing a video game.

Don't tell me what I consider worthy of putting the HMD on for.

You might as well stretch it all the way..... If you're not jumping, and crouching, and simulating that reload, and looking like a complete idiot trying to swim in in Fallout 4 VR.... you're not really playing VR. You might as well... "Spout something stupid"

In case anyone else needs a refresher on what VR is.

3D

Scale

1:1 Headtracking.

That is VR. Everything else is either just icing on the cake, or a gimmick.

Can you get 3D, Scale, 1:1 headtracking by sitting close to the TV?

THEN STFU!

You're literally the same kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Keyboard/mouse losers who can't imagine that people play FPS games with controllers on the PC..... "But.... but..but my mouse!!! You can't play FPS games with a controller?!?!?!!?!?! WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING!?!?!?!?!"

Your opinion on the matter is crap and you should keep it to yourself.

Who made you the fkkn authority on vr?.....theres a reason they made tracked motion controllers to go along with the headset......people wanted it.....because you dont and are happy with half an experience .......i honestly dont give fkk. I personally prefer the tracked controller play......i find it much easy to aim and take down targets......not to mention scrolling through the menus on the pipboy is no harder than with a keyboard.......

You coming on hear and telling people Vr is just head tracking and 3d......i dont even know what the fkk the scale BS you mentioned even means. Makes you look like a simple minded console fanboy......im not against controller support as long as nothing about the way i like to play is compromised........But dont be a little doosh telling people their opinions are crap when YOU are the minority on here

You know what nevermind......if you even have vr its probably an oculus with no touch controllers you bought second hand and are but hurt the Vr community left you.......every time i see a profile set to private its usually some loud mouth trying to start sheet

Well i happen to own a steam link, steam and xbox one controller and i often play coop games on tv with a girlfriend. My point is still valid, there is a reason VR is controlled by motion controlls, it makes it more immersive. Try vivecraft with keyboard or controller and then try it with motion controllers, it is make quite the difference. Yet again you are probably oculus owner and you are butthurt that this game doesnt support your headset or you dont have touch controllers, did i struck the nerve?

You apparently missed the whole point.

This isn't about the motion controllers as a concept.

It's about the motion controllers not keeping parity with what an XBOX controller offers.

The reason why OP and others like him, including me, would rather go back to playing with an XBOX controller is not because we don't like having detached aiming. IT's because everything else about controlling the game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gimmick due to how limited these motion controllers currently are.. Look how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the control scheme for Fallout 4 VR is... the evidence is staring you in the face.

IT is sad, when an Xbox controller can control Fallout 4 better than a pair of motion controllers.

I mean wow. We get detached aiming... To bad you lobotomized everything else about how we used to play games with controllers using our thumbs.

The HMD only replaced a portion of what my right thumb does on a thumbstick. These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Vive controllers threw everything else about how games are played on controllers out the window.

Now do you understand why for alot of VR games it's actually a better experience to ditch the motion controllers when given an option?

The moment they provide the equivalent of a Split XBOX designed motion controller with all the same amount of buttons..... this won't be an issue.

I gaurantee an XBox inspired set of motion controllers, would have had NO issues, porting over a proper control scheme for VR. It literally would have kept parity, with one addition.. Detached aiming..... Instead we get a pile of ♥♥♥♥ that fumbles over itself because it's trying to fit an Xbox controller into 2 giant touchpads and barely managing to do so, to the point that it is barely recognizable when put up against the standard control schemes that have existed for the last 15 years before Valve came along and shoved their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ touchpads down VR's throat.

Buddy i have 0 problems doing anything in the game with the touch controllers....i can go through all the menus and scroll through the pip boy without any problems......you keep trying to convince us the motion control scheme in the game is totaly broke. If it was nobody would be able to use it. IT simply isnt the case. If you prefer an xbox controller thats your business.....i prefer the motion controllers. You telling us the motion controls suck is falling on deaf hears homie

Wait, so Mr EOS here is trying to convince everyone that an XBox controller is objectively the best input for VR gaming, over the motion tracked independent controllers like Touch and the wands ? That's preposterous ! Sitting VR games I'll gladly conceed, the benefits of touch/wands are marginal in that case, but once you tackle free-roaming, standing VR games, classic controllers are painfully inadequate. You need your hands to be individually tracked and able to indepentally trigger actions. Motion tracking is the biggest selling point of VR headsets, otherwise you're just not using the headset to its full potential. Which would be well withing your right, but let's not go around claiming a classic controller is unevocally the best input for these VR games now...
