As long as you have extra fusion cores in your inventory, it should automatically "reload".

The count of fusion fusion cores in inventory is below the appropriate gauge in the power armor cockpit. When a core depletes, it'll play a sound effect on reloading the next one.

If your power armor's legs are damaged, I *believe* that you will be unable to run or sprint in the same fashion as when no core is installed, but I might be wrong (fairly new to FO4 myself). Maybe someone can correct me.

A little off topic, but I'm still curious just which actions drain the core faster. I believe that both power attacks and sprinting do, but I haven't heard a firm answer on walking vs. running, jumping, ground slams, etc.

In VR if I was walking up to an empty power armor suit to reload the core, I had to walk behind the suit to where you should see the fusion core interface. Only then did I get the option to reload.

They will but you can remove almost empty cores to sell them. Just transfer them in the power armour menu.

When you enter armor it inserts a core automatically. When you leave it leaves one core in but any other in your inventory stays in your inventory. If you change to a different power armor I take the core out of the old one just so it doesn’t get wasted by standing next to armor and not entering it just transfer it . I seem to notice power being used faster when sprinting ,power attack or using jet pack and if there is no core in inventory or armor you can hardly walk in it. If your leg armor is damaged you can still walk and sprint as long as you have cores. I try to save my cores by getting out as often as I can. It shows on your map so you shouldn’t have a problem finding where you left it. I also buy cores whenever I can to keep stock. I feel modding to have unlimited cores is like cheating. I really don’t mod anything. I do wish there were some graphic settings because just turning off shadows and lowering texture setting alone would make entire game run much smoother. But if patch isn’t released soon I may have to mod the graphics just for better performance.

Just a note to always remove the power core when you leave the armor, especially when you're in one of your settlements. NPCs will enter the armor and you won't be able to get them out.

Also, cores have the same value whethere they're almost empty or full. So remember to take them out before they go empty so you can get 200+ caps.

I encountered a bug lasnight when exiting a vertibird. It rendered my powerarmor unable to sprint or jump. To fix it I just exited the armor, saved & relaunched F4VR. Just like the swimming sound bug.
