This I would normally agree with. But as you can cancel at any time, It does not hurt to hold back what could be a good deal until you know more. Hear nothing before release or see things you don't like? cancel. Like what you see? keep it, you just got yourself the game for cheaper.
Generally ok, unless you know enough about why you are buying..
For example, I bought in to Elite: Dagerous the minute I heard about it. But then been playing Elite since 1984
also, if you can get this working in 5 minutes why don't you save the $60 and make your own copy of fallout 4VR Mr.smartypants.
That makes it sound complicated when it isn't...at all. Bethesda has all the vr code and research they need from idtech.
They have a team of about 5 people plugging that code into the engine then making minor tweaks to make the game more VR friendly. Then they run it through debug which would likely take a small team a couple of months.
Don't let Bethesda fool you into thinking this is some massive project.
Right now YOU could go to the unity store, get the engine SDK, a basic asset package and a VR plugin and have a game up and running in a day. Within a week you would have something that would qualify for early access and this is assuming you have zero experience making a game whatsoever.
I don't think it's much to ask when I say people who bought this game at full price deserve some kind of discount on it. Hell I bought the season pass too. I don't feel entitled to free content. Bethesda deserves to get paid for their work even if it is in reality very minimal.
Having the VR version as DLC for like $20 makes far more sense than releasing it as a new game. I'm not asking for some huge discount.
I'm a very loyal Bethesda customer. Have been since long before Morrowind. I've bought their games on multiple platforms, I've bought all their dlc and all I'm asking for is not to be gouged by them when this is released.
If you don't want a discount that's fine and if you waited and bought this game super cheap then awesome for you.
Jesus even Nordic games gave people free copies of their Darksiders remasters and they are the cheapest company around.
Bethesda should want to sell as many copies as this as possible and I want to be there playing it on day 1 but if they charge full price I'll wait until it's basically free. Then Bethesda makes less than they would have had they sold it at a discount for those that bought the original at launch.
But I guess that makes me just a terrible person. Me and my loyalty....awful grumble grumble entitled blah blah.
What planet are you on? We aren't talking about consoles and no that wouldn't make sense...
Also considering they just plugged idtech vr code into the engine yes u could get it working in 5 min. If Bethesda wants to send me their source and tools I'd be happy to let someone film me doing it.
Rendering something in vr is really damn easy when the code was written long before fallout 4 ever came out.
I'm on planet earth, perhaps you should join us.
if that doesnt make sense then why would you think everyone deserves the VR version for free or at a discount?
I dont pretend to know what it takes to develop video games, but I can guarantee it would take you a lot longer to produce a working fallout 4VR. you are just talking out your ass.
You know just becuase you state something as fact does not make it so. 5 minutes? If you can do that Barry Allen then get in the industry stat. 'Occupation: The Flash' would do wonders on your portfolio.
Oh and who knew you had the insider insight to know how many employees Bethesda has working on this game. Wow, you must really know your stuff!
Not only that but comparing a VR conversion of a 100+ hours game not created or designed with VR in mind in an out of date engine to a from scratch VR asset flip is just nonsence. Those two things are nothing alike.
By all means ask for a discount but don't spread that ridiculusness.
never heard of it. but it's 2 years older than fallout and prolly need to do that in order to make any money. supply and demand my friend.
now don't get me wrong, I think they are milking the price a little bit but they will also be selling a lot less of this version. so to make up for the costs of development and put some money into the pockets of the directors/shareholders who had to agree to take this risk, they put it at the same price as the original. although they dropped the original price right after. regardless, I don't really care what the price is. I feel it's very fair for the amount of time I have already put into it on both xbox one & PC and will continue in the VR version. yes this will be my 3rd purchase of the game and it doesn't bother me.
just don't ask me to buy DLC anymore cause thats a greedy corporate tactic that has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up this industry. perhaps this will as well one day but can't just assume yet.
