Creation Kit won't launch steam_api64.dll missing
I can't launch the creation kit for skyrim or fallout 4. I keep getting an error message saying I'm missing steam_api64.dll or missing GFSDK_SSAOD3D11.win64.dll. I've gone through every discussion forum post and every Youtube video on the subejct I could find. No matter what I do, the creation kit won't launch. I've tried contacting Bethesda about it, but they never even respond to my support ticket. I tried the fix in the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieW6P1Ep3gM warning get ready to hti the mute botton on the video. I've manually added the dll file to my system 32 fodler and the launcher still won't work. I've tried installing the creation kit in the same folder as the game .exe, both the VR and standard version, and it never works. I've gone through every possible fix I can think of and nothing ever works. I'm at a complete loss over how to fix this.

Now I get the new error: The procedure entry point SteamUser could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\program files (x86)/bethesda.net launcher\games\CreationKit.exe. I went through and restarted my computer a few times and manually moved a few dll files to my system32 folder. Now I'm stuck on this error.

This may be a bit late. I found a fix for my problem I just manually copied steam_api64.dll into the same location as the CreationKit.exe file. When I started the program it prompted me to unpack a scripts.zip file and I clicked yes and then when it finished I started the Program again and it started properly. Hope this helped.

Thanks for this. The creation kit only works with the standard edition of the game apparently.

1. Заходим в директорию игры в Steam. У меня путь выглядит так: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4
2. Копируем из данной папки нужны нам файлы (GFSDK_GodraysLib.x64.dll, GFSDK_SSAO_D3D11.win64.dll и steam_api64.dll)
3. Вставляем их в папку с установленным Creation Kit. У меня он расположен по адресу: C:\Program Files (x86)/Bethesda.net Launcher\games

После выполненных манипуляций Creation Kit запустился без ошибок. Надеюсь, что это кому-то поможет.

I installed this into my SkyrimSE folder and it worked perfectly. Thank you. So Recap: Install CreationKit into your SkyrimSE folder. I added the argument --game="Skyrim Special Edition"

Yup, that did it. Thanks! I would just add: Launch it from the app inside the folder, not from the Bethesda website.

Yeah, you have to install the CK onto the same drive you have Skyrim installed on.

How do you change the install directory to the game folder? I can't seem to change where Steam installs CK.
