How to install mods with Vortex?

It seems they don't work. Vortex is pretty straightforward so I wonder what am I missing.

I know that to get vortex to work in skyrim vr, A friend had to walk me through the process ( I am pc stupid ). Something about adding some "certain lines in the ini. files i think to trick it into thinking it was adding it into the flatscreen sse edition or something like that. I am not sure but it may require a simillar thing for fo4 vr. I asked my friend about doing it for fo4 vr and he said he just uses the nmm for that game.

I have finished ONE playthrough without mods in fo4 vr and I am REALLY tired of looking at nasty--greasy- filthy-people in game lol. I may give the nnm a try, but so far nexus has not even recognized that I even have the game.. good luck.

Navigate to your Fallout 4 Folder at the following location "Documents\My Games\Fallout4"
Within this folder you'll find a number of .ini files.
Open (or create, if missing) Fallout4Custom.ini with your favourite text editor
Add the following lines to your Fallout4Custom.ini

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

Save and close Fallout4Custom.ini

Also for vortex make sure your install path is on the same drive as your fallout 4, you can go into settings to fix this, if you don't do that you have to run Vortex as admin so it can make symbolic links which allow you to have mods on a different drive from your Fallout 4 installation.

Thank you very much. But after seeing F4 VR still runs like crap even on GTX 1080 Ti I think I'll pass on this game altogether.

it runs fine on my 1070, you may have to tweak a few setings.
