Because in VR you're swiching your HUD which requires a quick reload. I supposed they "could" have shown the armour opening but they'd still have to reload the screen.
Because there is no 3rd person in real life. That is what Fallout 4 is trying to emulate. Aside from sitting in a barbers chair, there is little reason to need to see what you look like. It's the same reason all the character creation screens are gone. You're no longer looking at the character on a screen because you ARE the character.
Again..whats the point? You dont get a cinematic replay in real life so why would you in VR. Dont get me wrong, I see what you are saying and it would be cool but it's not there for a reason, be it immersion reasons or implimentation reasons.
You do have smooth turning. Just turn!
Best to not compare to Skyrim or Doom for good reason. Skyrim is a PSVR title and designed to the limitations of the PSVR tracking (foward facing and no roomscale). Doom is crossplatform so again, it has certain features that where designed with the PSVR in mind (again that forward facing, no roomscale was part of the design on the game engine).
Fallout however is built for the Vive. It expects you to have roomscale and to have full tracking no matter what way you look. it "might" be something they add in future patches (especially if they opt to port to PSVR) but I cant see it being high on the list of priorities at this time as they are still dealing with certain ingame perfomance issues.
That's my point. They should show the armor opening and then you click to enter.
In real life, I can see what I'm wearing. I just look at my pants and my body. Changing the look of your character and his armor is a big part of FO4.
The cinematic VATS death are an iconic part of FO4. It's clear to me they removed it for the motion sick crowd. But why can't it be an option for those of us who don't get motion sick?
It's about options. Not everyone wants to stand for 4 hours. There is already a turn option. All I'm asking for is that it be continuous instead of this stupid snap smoothly. Doom VFR and Skyrim have this. Lots and lots of games have this option.
It's not real smooth turning. It's snap turning done smoothly. It seems that they don't understand what smooth turning is.
I'm on the RIft. To turn I have to move my thumbstick and then click a button too. Every time I turn I have to press this button. I would like to just move my right thumbstick to turn continuously like many other VR games.
I WANT TO SEE HOW ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ COOL I LOOK!!
In the meantime if you want a more immersive Power Armor experience in VR then I would recommend my mod, Kabuto:VR. The latest version provides an actual visual helmet for each of the main Power Armor helmets, you can equip / unequip them while wearing the armor, by swapping suits or by using the power armor equipment menus. The helmets are not shown if your suit doesnt have one and can be taken off at any time or destroyed in battle.

Kabuto:VR has now been updated to include a P.A.F.A.S (Power Armor Frame Activation System) Module - this optional addition allows the player to enter / exit Power Armor frames more immersively, i.e. which the frame opening / closing animation.

Enjoy.
